Well, I'm a little late to this party, but I just found out about the trumpet model and as a long time VL-1/BC user, I am happy some good acoustic models are starting to be made.

I have spent a little time with the last five beta versions, and have a couple of observations.

Let me preface this by saying I am not a trumpet player, but have been emulating trumpet live and on recordings for about 20 years using various synths and breath controllers.

Of the betas, I find version B3 to be the most satisfying to play. I think this is mostly because it seems to have more timbrel motion in the lower CC index values, and the amount of "blat" to wind pressure seems to match my expectations. This may simply mean it is a closer match to what I am used to on my VL1.

B6 seems to have blat on every attack without much performance control, and may be better for non-bc use, but it is unsatisfying for me as I feel the trumpet is playing on its own.

There have obviously been a lot of changes in the pitchbend/overtone area and the b6 seems to need some kind of smoothing. B3 has a nice smooth feel when bending pitch, but b6 seems more aggressive and correct other than the transitions from overtone to overtone.

One thing I REALLY miss from Yamaha models is the ability to have a different down pitch interval from the pitch bend up interval. I usually use a smaller pitch down to slur individual attacks, while using a wider value for pitch up FX.

Anyhow, I am really loving this VSTi, and I am anxious to use the Sax model.

Congratulations on a job well done!...off to PayPal to support your efforts.

Best regards,

MM

The pitch bend options could be made many and deep, with curves and scalings and response shaping breakpoints. Theres a whole world of nuance there.

Theres a lot of aspects about the earlier demo pitchbend feel i liked but i begged for a smoother response within roughly one step of the note. Only then could i get a more natural tone in my demos.

I didn't like the inhale sounds.
Didn't you guy's hear the interviews: He didn't inhale!

I think it's time for another demo. Or even better: a beta version.

The inhale sounds on that demo are slightly sexist as it's obviously a bloke.

Well that is what I thought when I heard it first.

The funny thing is that in this song you can hear three Synthedit plugins: MrRay22, Glaceverb (great!) and my tenor sax model. :D

This is a very soft tenor sax sound full of breath noise, maybe too much

Tony, I'd like you to test it with your wx5...
Hi Guido
First, congratulations for you plugins!
I just have new Arturia Brass. In direct comparison is the Arturia trumpet a little bit better and the controls are more advanced, but best is the combination of your and Arturias trumpet. Its a good complement and makes a nice unisono-sound

But your sax (like on the latest demotrack) is really awesome! Arturias sax sounds so terrible synthetic like your older #12-demo. I just cant wait to try out the plugin if is finished.

Ciao
