How would it fair on my P4 2.4 533 cpu-wise ?

Is it (or will it be) SSE2 optimised ?

What can it offer me over and above my other commercial vsti's (z3ta+, pentagon 1, CronoX 2, JunoX, Vaz 2010 etc.) ?

cheers

dunno about P4's.. I think it's going to be SSE 1/2 optimised later.. Give the demo a go :D it's stable. Play around for a while, I'm sure it'll fit in somewhere in your setup.

On my XP2100+ with 512mb it seems to peak at about 30-35% with all six occilators, 1 filter and some effects going under Fruityloops. Which concidering what it's doing, I don't think is too bad 8) Generally it uses a lot less if you don't need all the occilators... some of the sounds it gives with just a couple are very impressive in themselves.

I've downloaded the demo twice, and both times the file has been corrupt.... any ideas why?

JBravo,

I guess Wookie is right. Play around with the demo and see if it suits your needs. I believe it is, well, different. I think it really shows its strength for atmospheric pads, but to tell the truth, I have been so busy coding it that I've only scratched the surface of the synthesis engine :-)

SSE1 optimization is scheduled for a future version.

I think the server hosting the file is getting overloaded, which explains why you get download errors. It should be available at Simtel mirrors in a few days, if you got the patience :-)

And SSE 2 ?

Not planned at the moment. I'd need a P4 for that.

Well I'm impressed by the demo - you got my money.

Do us a favour though and get a P4 - some of those presets are a little thirsty !

Bonjour Monsieur 'Tique

Maybe a stupid question... errm, I tried to check out older posts here about updating Rainbow 2 / upgrading to Rhino... but didn't find any answer.

Rhino is a completely new product then, isn't it? As a registered Rainbow 2 user do I have to pay the normal price? Or will there be an upgrade path in the future?

Thanks :)
