I can confirm the automation-GUI bug. I used T2 demo, mapped the controllers of my EMU Xboard 49 to all available spinner LE parameters and though everythng worked fine the GUI elements for RtrSpd (Fast-Slow) and RtrEng (Rotary On - Off) were only updated when going from Off (<64) to On(>=64). Not the opposite.
Everything else was fine, including my initial thoughts about the chain of the effects.
I wouldnt mind a bit of tweakability for the Horn EQ section.
Overall a great work pj and amoebe, just take a look at this On-Off GUI issue and it's ready to take off.
One final thing. My only concern with NubiLE was the sound of the click. Had a kind of digital noise quality to my ears (esp. when using my non-forgiving DT770 headphones). Now Nubile followed by spinner sounds always great. NubileLE+SpinnerLE combo is now the definite winner in the Hammond arena.

Thanks for checking this out. I have had three reports of this automation bug so I don't doubt it's real -but- I've also verified that SpinnerLE works properly (automation included) in Cubase SX.zeoy wrote:I can confirm the automation-GUI bug. All parameters will be accessible via MIDI CC and config file in the release version. I wanted to keep the overall "size" of the plug small. It's free after allzeoy wrote:Everything else was fine, including my initial thoughts about the chain of the effects. I wouldnt mind a bit of tweakability for the Horn EQ section.
I will try to post something in the the Tracktion forum to see if any other plugins are displaying this behaviour. Have you tried using MIDI CC #1 to control the Rotor Speed?zeoy wrote:Overall a great work pj and amoebe, just take a look at this On-Off GUI issue and it's ready to take off.

I'll try that too and I'll report back.
Thanx again

I've found some intersting behaviour about the automation/GUI bug. The rotor switches to fast as soon as the automation parameter is more than 0.0. I can switch it back manually to slow only if the parameter's value is exactly 0.0. It still won't switch back automatically (this is while using 0.1.3) When I transport the play cursor back to the beginning, where the automated parameter's value is 0.0, the rotor will switch to slow automatically. But that's the only situation it does that. It won't do that at the end of the track where the parameter's value is 0.0 as well.
I've found a small bug in the GUI as well: two knobs are 1 pixel off. I'll send you a new background

And while cheching the background I realize in Tracktion we don't see the rotor's fast frame at all. What we see is the GUI's background which shows the rotor as fast position.
The new background won't show the rotor handle at all and maybe that will shed some light on the situation.
I checked the other switches and now they work fine now.

Hi PJ (and Amoebe),
Just took Spinner for a quick tour: it is an impressive piece of work. No problems at all in Cubase SX 2.2 (though I'll be using it much more intensively tonight). Also loads fine in MiniHost and Chainer.
I've been looking for ages for a leslie sim that comes close to the one NI has (the best software sim I know of). None have really come close - until this one.
I'm very impressed. For a bread and butter leslie this beats just about anything out there.

To all,
Thanks for giving this a look! I think there is only one outstanding bug - it may have been fixed by the latest version - if you have requested a beta and have not received your copy yet please send me a reminder!
peace,
pj

PS: the GUI bug was really minor, so I could survive even without the updated beta
*EDIT (later) ... checks inbox for pj: finds a brand new beta
