Hey! This is great! Works perfectly here on my compaq ( ) laptop. Haven't tested the midi out yet, though.. Thanks!

would have been nice to be able to use more than one slider at a time, although this might be impossible hardware wize ..?

Unfortunately that's impossible. The limitation might not be in the hardware, but somewhere in the drivers - in the end it makes little difference. The driver reports x, y and z coordinates based on the center of the area covered by "conductive objects" (fingers usually) on the surface. The z coordinate (pressure) reflects how big an area of the touchpad is covered.

Basically you can only move one slider at a time...

Anybody using touchpads by Cirque / Adesso (same hardware different brands)? They look like they use their own format so they probably don't work - let me know if they do.

It responds to pad movement just fine on my HP lappie (which probably is the same thing as Compaq). I can't figure out how to get MIDI though.

Anyway, this is a great idea. In combination with a virtual keyboad, this will totally rock for laptop jamming.

i can't check it out tonite (will do tomorrow on my IBM company notebook) but it should be able to route midi with midi-yoke from the app to your host.

Absolutely cool. No problems on Cepop Hel700.

Hi,

tried and seems to work, but MIDIOX doesn't receive any message via MIDIOverLan.
In fact, the ports that are shown in T2M are the Inputs Ports !!!
Strange ?

holy shit.......that was quick.....cant wait to try :D

You are absolutely right - the list showed the input ports - didn't notice because on my system there's an output for each input so the lists are almost identical (well except for the works in and out obviously).
Bug fixed, please redownload.

Here work!
Compaq presario Notebook with Usb Tablet.

Only one strange thing:
When i point the pen up in Y axis the result in the screen is that the pointer is going down on the Y axis!!!!

I added a check to see if the touchpad coordinates are reversed - please re-download. The version number on the about screen should read 0.12alpha.

Now it's perfect

What a reactivity !
Are you all like this in Denmark ?
I think about Frits Zynewave (Podium)...
I'm sure that if we make a prize for the faster support, Frits and you will win !

Considering the use of the Touchpad, I suppose that you have planned to allow to send MIDI messages ONLY when the left button is pressed ?

A few suggestions for the future :
- differents MIDI CC numbers when the left button and when the right button are pressed (two sets of four cc)
- change of the color of the bar when a message is sent
- possibility to disconnect the touchpad from the mouse pointer
- horizontal faders ?

I've played with the little "graphic" app from Synaptic, and the pseudo pressure is not bad.
It will be nice to have it with the XY Pad...

I don't know if this tool will be usable in real environment, but it is indeed extraordinary fun to play with it...
Thanks !

cool!!
works just good with my synaptic..
i'd like to have customizable CC numbers 'cause i'd use it in Bidule (where fixed CC can turn layouts very complex)...
when you plan to release the VST version?
i'd really like to use the touchpad as an XY controller :)

thanx
