hi !

is any one out here who has experienced the same trouble with all 3 rex2-libraries from e-quipped music ? here's what's not working with these libraries:

my equipment consists of a MAC G5 (2 x 1.8) with TIGER and LOGIC PRO 7.1.1. I'm having trouble converting REX files that I got off from their sampling DVDs LOUNGIN HOUSE, BREAKBEAT JAZZ and NUJAZZ FUNK.

When I throw the folder into the converter, everything looks perfectly normal, but it doesn't seem to produce the "audio" file in my spectrasonics user folder. Except for 2 instrument folders that are complete with all loops, I'm only getting a file named "data.xml" in each other folder.

The names of the parent folders appear inside RMX, but not the names of the converted REX files. i asked SPECTRASONICS but someone answered that they don't support 3rd party product.

Clueless...

MonacoMan, is the folder more than one level deep? That's all the RMX converter will do. Be sure to read the help file in RMX. You can find it by clicking the disk icon in the lower right corner of the interface.

One way to test if this is your problem would be to try and convert a single .rx2 file rather than a whole folder at once.

but that's exactly what i did. i tried it with all of the folders at once, single folders and then single files. it just doesn't work. if i try it with single files, there's an error window from the SAGE converter coming up that states that these are not real rex files or something like that.

Did you run the 1.5 version of the Rex Converter updater when you got RMX Ver. 1.5? I assume you don't have another app that uses Rex files? Perhaps some Reason user could offer to *ahem* help you test a file or 2. :?

yeah, that would be great. i already asked a couple of music friends over here, but noone is using STYLUS RMX. it woudl be good to know if its my system or the shabby manufacturing of BIG FISH (just had a similar experience with the new NEO SOUL 2)and others ...

WillieJenkins, what is your impression of these libraries when used from within Stylus? Is it easy to use them? I ask because I have tried the e-quipped libraries with other rex players with not much success. They sound great, but only if I can use them :-)

This is very strange..
It sounds like you're missing the REX shared library on the Mac. Just run the "Install REX Shared Library OSX" installer that is included in the SAGE Converter folder.
