I got an e-mail from the editor with a cryptic message asking if I wanted to review the disc!!freeztar wrote:
Good idea Scott, I'll send one Asap!
Scott, Any word from the Phantom Tollbooth?
I wrote back telling them that I'm one of the artists on the disc so it probably wouldn't be right for me to review it. So it will be picked up by one of the other reviewers soon if not already.

Red Cross Sifting Internal Charges Over Katrina Aid
By STEPHANIE STROM
Published: March 24, 2006
The American Red Cross, the largest recipient of donations after Hurricane Katrina, is investigating wide ranging accusations of impropriety among volunteers after the disaster...

So,The Edge
has a website*here*that is dedicated to helping musicians in New Orleans who've been misplaced, lost their gigs and/or their instruments (left in flooded clubs, without work, etc.).
Therefore -- I wish to propose that we change the RED CROSS donations from our CD set to Music Cares so we all know for sure that we're doing something righteous to help.
After all, what are we all about at KVR if not for music and musicians? eH??
We've been in touch with U2 and they'll gladly up our exposure if we can do this thing!
All those in favor:
(xander) "Aye!"
All those opposed:
(no one).....
Then the fuckin 'ayes' have it! yeah?
Many Blessings all,
Alex

you do what you want but i would have chosen a more "essential" kind of relief effort than the "let's-help-musicians-to-get-gigs" type.

I think there is more under the hood than just getting them gigs.

aye
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
