Latency when using Betabugs Bugpass? (Krystal Audio Engine)

When I use Bugpass in Krystal, it creates about a half second of latency on the channel where it's used. When I turn the VST effect on, the channel in question becomes out of synch with the rest of the mix. Turn the effect off, and it's back in synch.
Does anyone else have this problem? Love the GUI, how it goes from band-pass to notch. Just wish I could get it to work in my mix!
Thanks

It's not really a problem as you suggest, and it doesn't matter what host you use. The steep curve given by Bugpass is computer intensive and means that there is always going to be latency with this plugin. I believe it's a 48db cut. Just find a workaround. Bounce to audio or something.....

It's a long shot, but try bouncing it to audio, and if it's still out of time with the rest of the track, try quantizing it. I'm not sure if it'll work or not and I've never used Krystal, but hey, it's an idea.

Bugpass isn't intended for realtime use, that's for sure. It uses an FFT to achieve its effect, using 4096 samples, I believe. That's a substantial fixed latency, making it unsuitable for realtime use.
However, since it's mainly intended for mixing or adding effects post-recording, that's not a problem. The only problem with Kristal would be if Kristal does not feature plug-in delay compensation. If it does not, then ALL of your tracks are being thrown out of sync by varying amounts and you just might not be noticing because they're not using such a large fixed latency.
I wouldn't want to work with a host that doesn't feature PDC, but Kristal is definitely showing some promise going into the future.

I've been bouncing to audio, which has been a good workaround. Agreed--it's not a problem. It's a great filter; steep curve is why it sounds so good and uses so much CPU, huh?
The weird thing is, it's the only effect I've used that generates latency. I've piled on some CPU-intensive stuff too. Anyway, thanks for the responses, and for the cool plug-in!

All of your plug-ins generate latency, but some of it might be so small that it's not noticeable. Another plug-in that's AWESOME but has huge fixed latency is SIR. It has an 8,000+ sample fixed latency, last I checked.
Glad you enjoy the plug-in! I can't take any credit for it, but Christian Budde did a stellar job.
