Any alternative to BFD jazz and funk collection?

I'm looking for some nice funk kits, perhaps played with sticks, brushes or mallets with some velocity layers and different articulations. BFD obviously looks nice, but 55 gigs is crazy talk. Surly there must be a quality collection around about a gig or maby less in size. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Although I'm a big fan of BFD and their sample packs, if you're on a super tight budget and have limited disk space, you might want to consider the Wizoo Mixtended Funk library. You can download it online for about $30.

NUSofting is offering some Funk kits for DK+ They're based on Funk Equipment samples.
DK+ is great and the support here at KVR is great too. (Recent convert...)

Note that you can do a "low detail" install of Jazz & Funk which weighs in at "only" 20GB.
This account is dormant, I am no longer employed by FXpansion / ROLI.

Don't forget, that the size of those samples goes to quality. You don't need to keep them on your hardrive, but rather on an external USB or firewire drive. You then load the samples for whatever project you're using and need to have enough RAM for that.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
rickschwar and anzoid, I check out the audio demos on those sites. They were good, but I guess I'm really after brushes or mallets - sorry if my original post was misleading.
