You will of course still be able to use your favourite Orion synths in Ableton, possibly as VST instruments (if Orion lets you) or else simply by rewiring Orion into Ableton.

(Having tried other hosts - and as a Sonar user  - I understand why a lot of people don't like rewire, but in Ableton Live rewire actually works, and very well. For example you can automate clip envelopes directly in Live itself for the synth/effect parameters in the rewire slave application, and unlike (it seems) some other hosts, Ableton also sets up proper routing - as many MIDI outputs as you need and with stereo returns for everything.)

diff beast altogether, and i wouldnt buy from them, as you know. (and i never said i was selling or going to stop using Orion)

You'll find P5 is more similar to orion as far as patterns and the playlist

You'll most likely find yourself wanting to go back to Orion after using it too
:hihi:

I say go for Live

Consider Making Waves,, it is fast to get ideas happening which makes it quite fun to compose with.

what's wrong about eXT that all these expensive & (imho inferior) apps are being suggested? :?

crimsonwarlock wrote:Krim, just a completely different suggestion: take a look at MadTracker. Nothing beats a tracker for controlability in a pattern format and MadTracker can host VST/VSTi, has a decent mixer and can be rewired into Orion. Best of all you can download it for free (it seems that they have paid options where the software is linked to webspace iirc).
renoise is another great tracker. i own both of them. madtracker supports rewire ;)

What is the difference between the IL Wasp VSTi and WaspXT inside Orion? Can someone list them? I know that the look was different, but as arke mentioned the look has been updated (not the external one yet though only the one that is FL specific to my knowledge)
