Well... I intend to buy the Soundpool 2005 DVD from Magix. Does anyone has it? Can anyone tell me if it worth the price? (29 €).
I have a question too... how come all the Magix sample collections are costing the same? There is one of theses collections whitch costs 29, having something like 7000 samples while the last collection (having 10000 samples)costs the same...
Thnx!

cant help you with the "soundpool 2005", but i got the movie sound collection DVD 2005 and its definately worth it for 29 euro - maybe were talking about the same discs but im not sure.
pros:
you get tons of well done classical music for every mood
lots of basic effects, not very good but not bad either
some real life sounds were usable for me
cons:
modern music was not very useful for me, some bad mixes too in there with cheap midi gm style sounding
lots of useless crap samples (which i all deleted, took some time...)
overall i kept about 2 gb of 7gb on my harddisc
if the soundpool youre talking about is more about synth samples, then i dont know, but maybe you get the same ratio of 5gb crap and 2gb ok. and 29€ for a full dvd is no high risk, if you dont mind sorting out the good samples.

Yes, I agree, 29€ is not a fortune. Anyway, I would be happy to know that i'm not throuing them away.
Thank you for sharing your opinion. I suppose that the product you were talking about is another one but in the mean time I suppose that they (Magix) are simply adding new samples to the existing ones. This could be the solution for the generic price and for the bad (old) samples too. Thnx again!

The 2005 soundpool dvd has "tons" of samples of which you will probably end up keeping 30-50%, so basically just figure if its worth spending your money to dig thru and sort em out. I did and I don't regret it, that many sounds your sure to find SOMETHING.

Don't forget that Magix gotta have the most rediculous user license for it's sample material. If you use the Magix samples in a commercial production you are obliged to add the Magix logo to your cd cover or record sleeve...

I was looking at a collection very much the same at my local PC store... 10,000 loops but then I thought... I dont want to sit through listening to 10,000 loops just to find perhaps 50 I might use!
I would be more interested in something like the Zero-G 'Dance Packs' in Apple Loop format (which I understand is also usable as just standard AIFF). These seem to be a 'Best of' collection of all the old Zero-g sample CDs! They cost a bit more but I imagine I would get more out of them
Hope this helps!
