Hello, just wondering what's for you the best
freeware chorus effect around.

Some contenders:

Kjaerhus Audio Classic Chorus
Betabugs MonstaChorus
BlueCat StereoChorus
Luxonix LFX-1310's Chorus
Clone Ensemble BassChorus

Maybe this could be better a poll, but actually I'm also looking for valid alternatives

Hey, not to be picky but these "Best whatever" threads actually belong to the "Getting Started (aka what is the best)" forum. Also you could search the database or the forums for answers, this probably has been discussed before.

That said, as usual there's no clear best but different features and flavours and it's best to try them out and choose what suits YOU best. I've tried all the ones you mentioned except bluecat and they are all decent-to-great, so you cannot go wrong. As alternatives you can also try:

Ixox Chorus
ag-works Chorus CH-2
BigTick Hexaline (not exactly a chorus, but can do chorus)

Another good one: ukmChorus2 for free.
What I like most (not expensive): Voxengo VintageModulator

...and I agree with other people: There's no best

Nothing like discovering a new chorus! That ag-works Chorus CH-2 is a pretty mean unit, too.
