what about a vst version with the mouse pointer automatically disabled - does it disable ALL pointers or just for the touchpad.....I always use a usb mouse so the touchpad would be purely used as a midi controller

confirmed...it doesn't not work at all with bidule...
but the standalone works like a charm with my touchpad...
so is an issue in the vst version in relationship with bidule
can ohm manage to fix it?
or contact the bidule's developers to investigate the issue?
thanx

I confirm that it works fine in EnergyXT but not in Bidule.
Bidule can use without problem MIDI only plugins, so I think that the problem is relative to the transmission of the Capslock key.
I will ask in Bidule's forum.

my (corporate) thinkpad has a touchpad and also a pointer-knob in the middle of the keyboard. when i use t2m and activate caps lock, the pointer doesn't react on the touchpad but t2m generates midi, at the same time i still can use the pointer-knob to move the pointer.VariKusBrainZ wrote:does it disable ALL pointers or just for the touchpad.....
so my guess is that you can use the usb-mouse for "mousing"
well, an option would be a switch in the gui which has the same effect as the keystroke (if it's possible).lalo wrote:can ohm manage to fix it?

Thanks for all the comments. A new version is avaiable - the gui is a draft and there is no persistency (settings not remembered).
I have it working in bidule now - the problem was different interpretations of the VST midi specification - I needed to do things a bit differently in Bidule.
For hosts like Ableton Live that does not support midi only plugins, I might do a seperate version with one (unused) audio out.
There's always a possibility for standalone operation, use savihost as described on this page
I'm still interested in getting reports on unsupported hosts - but please remember to write what host you have problems with.

glad to hear it works for you now. Regarding Ableton Live, the problem is not in the keystrokes - I use low level baddass hacker style keystroke reading so if the CAPS LOCK is down I'll know
I'll try adding an audio out. That should do it - LiveSlice can send midi in Live, probably because it has audio outputs.

surely it should work in Live5 as it can now host midi effect plugins ?

several midi-only plugins still don't work, e.g. chordme or my own BitmudDrumPad.. but that could be coz they were done with synthmaker, but i remember someone on the able-forum talking that midi-only-plugs (without audio-out) do "misuse" the vst specs. anyway most hosts deal with that, just live seems to have probs on that issue.VariKusBrainZ wrote:surely it should work in Live5 as it can now host midi effect plugins ?

there are as many interpretations of the VST specs as there are interpretations of the old testament
In the Midi area the specs are pretty cloudy. I dowloaded the Live5 demo to take a closer look at how they do things.

hi ohm, i don't think LIVE users want to use T2m like a vst , we use the midi data for all the arrangament or a song not just for a track (but you can do it also) and that's the reason why the standalone will be perfect, it would seem like an external controller ( i mean uc33, trigger finger, etc)
