-fortune- wrote:hi ohm, i don't think LIVE users want to use T2m like a vst , we use the midi data for all the arrangament or a song not just for a track (but you can do it also) and that's the reason why the standalone will be perfect, it would seem like an external controller ( i mean uc33, trigger finger, etc)
That's a good point - Live is not the only host with this limitation - In fact i think Audiomulch, Energy XT, Bidule and Psycle are the only hosts with fully modular routing capabilities. The rest are limited to "track to track" routing.

I'm not doing a dedicated standalone version though, thanks to savihost I only have to do one version - big timesaver.

One small issue: The additional functions of my pad, scroll area at the right and at the bottom, are not switched off with caps lock.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but what program do I use to open the vst version?

Thanks.

Hi Jeremy

some help here on standalone operation using savihost.

Just curious: What do you intend to use touchpad 2 midi for?

another loopback device which is used very much would be midi-yoke.

This is brilliant. Combined with Trollo, my laptopt has been transformed to a MIDI controller.
Works nicely in eXT, the touchpad driving Lucifer2 XY pad.

Thanks you.

Thanks for the response. I have both EnergyXT and Tracktion - do I just download the file to my VST folder to use it in these programs?

I would like to try Touchpad with my rehearsal set up (MAudio Keystation es88) since the keyboard has very limited midi controllers. I want to control the volume of various synths with my laptop. I am looking forward to using it.

Thanks.

Jeremy

Excellent choice of hosts - and yes you just put it in the plugins folder like any other VST plugin and you are ready to go :-)

a slight aside but might be useful
my synaptics touchpad can display graphix and animations, anyway to incorprate this as a display for the touchpad controller.

I wish my laptop came with one of those - it's a "C-Pad" right? found a small utility for it here

If it's a USB device you own then where do I get it? If I ever find a cPad in a usb version, I'll add support for it :-) I have a feeling that cPads are not that common. It's very handy to be able to display parameter values on the pad itself.

Anyhow - I found an example on how to do it, it's supposed to display a clock on your cPad. Get it [url=http://www.liveslice.com/cPadClock.exe]here. If that one works then it's definately possible, although that app does not run on my system so I can't really test it / develop it further.

Hi thanks, yes its a C Pad built into my Satellite lappy. I thought about it and I think i should be able to get it from the Toshiba website. Never bothered to use it. Apparently it can be used to launch applications, a key pad, calculator, sticky notes (you write or sketch on it which can be pasted to an application!)

been having great fun with your little app, thanks so much for this wicked tool :D

A new version of Touchpad 2 MIDI has been released - I now call it a Beta. It's stable and seems to be working and looking pretty good too. A short manual has been written as well.

What I havent done is add parameter snapshots, cPad graphical feedback, gui control to activate. I haven't looked at Eskes issue with scrolling not being turned off.

If you have issues, please report them now, as I'd like to move on to finishing Tablet 2 MIDI now :-)

Have fun with the tooyls -

Jacob
