I noticed there are .fxp files in the individual drum folders of the "Slices Midi and Patches" folder of the Special Edition. I'm guessing the .nki are for Kontakt, but what are the .fxp files for? Please say BFD!

Sorry. Those are for HALion, not BFD. We're working on BFD kits though and you know we MIGHT even make the SE kit available for BFD as a sort of "beta" at some point... in other words, FREE to SE owners.

Cool! I own HALion.
But I would prefer BFD.

Cool! BFD will be welcome as I cannot open the Kontakt kit - I haven't upgraded to K2 yet.

I will upgrade since I am looking to buy the GPO Strad library. But definitely BFD is the only way to play drum kits for me now.

Certainly good for that.Beardedone wrote:I will upgrade since I am looking to buy the GPO Strad library. But definitely BFD is the only way to play drum kits for me now.

I'm having a lot of fun exploring the SP SE sounds. Well done to all involved.
Has anyone tried the HALion presets (from disk 2) in HALion 2? They don't load properly here. I have a feeling they might have been made in Halion 3.
Squids, if this is the case, is there any chance of providing the presets in HALion 2 format - as a download or on the SP SE "extras" disk (or both)?
Perhaps the Kontakt presets in Kontakt 1 format could be made available too?
Finally, when I subscribed to the Group Buy, the formats included " WAV / ACIDized Loop", I have looked round a bit but cannot find any loops that are ACIDIized. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

We tend to work in the latest formats so Kontakt 2 and Halion 3 are what we support. Going backwards is that much extra work (because we update all of our samplers to the latest and most of the users should... always a good idea) and as it is we are adding more and more to these things when they were originally even just supposed to be Wave and Rex files w/ sessions. That said, we do like our sounds to also be compatible with as many people as possible so we might (at least in this case because there isn't much proprietary programming) see if we can put it in H2 and K1.
As for the waves inside Acid, they will of course load into Acid as they are. Not sure offhand if they have the full benefits of Acid embedded in them or not though. I believe it would be mainly the stereo files that would. We'll check on that for the version 1.1 update that we're working on. It should be ready in about 2-3 weeks.
