Yo y'all:

I've started pre-production work for next month's issue of Texas Music Forge and have a group of 6 to 8 bar samples of my "ragged but righteous" bass playing from a bunch of punch-ins on a song. It occurs to me that these might make a useful bunch of samples for producers and loop creators. I've bundled 5 .wav files into a 16 Mb zip file called Low Intent 1.

The song they were recorded for is about 100 bpm and in the key of E minor. The samples are untouched except for rolling off low rumble with EQ and a bit of compression. These should be useful for anyone creating house or other dance music, rock, pop or modern blues. Personally, I'll be surprised if you aren't writing a new song within ten minutes of unzipping the file.

You are free to use these in any way you like *except* for repackaging them for sale elsewhere. Your private or commercial use of them within another song is okay.

Anyone interested in hearing the song that the bass samples came from can get all the grit and glory at:

It occurs to me that the bass samples would work really well with the harmonica loops I made available a ways back in the Bent Reeds 2 pack:

This tune will probably make it into the next issue of Texas Music Forge if I can figure out a story to place it in. Enjoy the loops and samples.

Thanks Ed, brother in concrete.

BTW, Ed, shouldn't you make an exception if someone sells your samples to buy concrete blocks to build himself a DIY house ?
