From the back page of issue 98 of CM :-
"Our awesome new software for Windows and Mac OSX - it's the beating heart of the new CM Studio, and you don't want to miss it!"
I'm mostly just curious about what the host might be, (I'm already more than happy with XT!) any ideas?

a cut-down version of Babya Logic?

Post

cool, let us know what it is. :D

my dealer quit the CM magazine,
since it was too expensive.
so, i'm unable to get one.

now, he offers future music mag instead.
well, it's about 50% cheaper than CM.

i have a feeling it is the cutdown version of Live. i hope not, but it seems somehow likely to me.
i got it with my Delta 44, and it is a bit dissapointing.

I believe it is a version of Cubasis 'CM-Basis'.

I heard it's supposed to automatically find the two useful samples from each cover DVD so you won't have to listen through so much shite. :hihi:

Funny, I was just sorting through the tons of DVD's I have from mags - the vast majority of which have been nowhere near my pc.

actually i have found a few useful ones. mind you i haven't bought a CM for over a year now, so maybe they got even worse.

My main problem with them is that they are all 'one-note-song' type samples. You can't use them in anything because they are so completely busy they don't fit. The only way to use them is to base your entire track around them, and who wants to do that? you and every amateur on the planet will have the same groove.

What issue included TWO good samples? That sounds a little far fetched to me.

Anyway, maybe one day i'll need the sound of a kingsmill loaf splashing into a half full cup of bovril to complete my masterpiece, you never know.

ps: Electronic Garden are usually the good ones. If you see a contribution from them, that is the issue to buy :D

Pretty much every issue has a large number of The Electronic Garden multisamples on, so that means buy pretty much every issue... (I only bother copying multisamples onto my hard drive. Once I start hitting space problems, I'll start worrying about what to delete...)

Yep, I've been looking forward to the new CM sequencer for a while... CM hinted at it a few months back... This is a great, because now I'll have a decent sequencer that I can give to my friends and relatives who are interested in making music on their PC, but don't want to spend a lot of money. Hopefully it's an easy, but powerful little sequencer that has a short learning curve.
