Any there a lot of differences say bewteen the Expansion Tank Guitar collection and the Sonic Capsule guitars?
I mean, I know that the Capsules have more formats but do the capsules have more content?

The Capsules tend to have a bit more content. Well, in some cases a lot more. When the Studio Drums Capsule exports from the UFO it comes out as over 2 gigs for ST! But, that's because it has extra abilities to give you GM map or IMap, individual drum or full kits etc. each as individual ST sounds. Still... nice to have the options! You can choose to limit to just certain ones too.beergeek wrote:Any there a lot of differences say bewteen the Expansion Tank Guitar collection and the Sonic Capsule guitars?

For guitars I think Expansion Tank Guitar Collection is a nice mix of acoustic and electric. But, the two Sonik Capsules offer more overall between the two and there are some really nice sounds on all three. Probably good to have all three.

...and at just 16 bucks, the Guitar Collection was superb value (and I'm sure didn't deserve to be on clearance) at GC's Presidents Day sale. This thread just reminded me to load it up.
Thanks
A happy Dave.

Yeah, occassionally you can get a below cost deal from GC. You have to be around at the right time and place for that though. They just straight up lose money when they do that. They also can't advertise because it is below MAP. Sometimes you just get lucky. In this case, you did Dave. Congrats.DaveElson wrote:...and at just 16 bucks, the Guitar Collection was superb value (and I'm sure didn't deserve to be on clearance) at GC's Presidents Day sale. It isn't a bad way to qualify for upgrade/crossgrades (like CSR because it is even an ALL grade which means that ownership of ANY IK product allows you to buy the crossgrade at the discount like on www.esoundz.com). I mean, you end up saving over a hundred bucks that way and you get essentially a FREE library. Might as well take advantage of these deals.

I like the Capsules for thier added versitility. You can use them in more than one format, which is nice. I'd buy any SR sound set I could find for $16!!!

Thanks guys...here's the deal...
I can get ET's for 49 bucks from a dealer on Ebay...BUT I have a bunch of epointz just begging to be spent...plus...the capsules don't have pianos...
What would you do?
I'm thinking...buy the ET's from ebay for the piano and the Capsule Rhythym Collection from esoundz...but I could be persuaded to buy more ET's from ebay.
I'm trying to hold off spending my epointz for ProFiles or Studiophonik...so many decsions..so little money

Well, first of all, I'll bet you a Leiney's that you'll have more epointz before Studiophonik comes out.beergeek wrote:Thanks guys...here's the deal...

The Piano Expansion Tank is definately a nice set. Two of my favorite sounds from that are "A Nice Stnwy D" and "SuperWurly". The "D" is so sweet, has great color throughout, and "SuperWurly" is almost identical to the Wurlitzer EP that Supertramp was so famous for, like on songs like "Dreamer". It also has some other nice pianos, a nice CLAV, a Harpsicord, and a few other nice electric pianos. I got mine as a freebie with the original SS1 GB, and I'm glad I have it.
I take it the other one you're interested in is the Groove Capsule??? If so,,, that is a set of loops in a variety of styles at different tempos. It's a nice set, but with the advent of the Studio Profiles,,, well,,,personally, I'd wait for some more SP's. One nice thing is that since it's a Capsule, you can use the UFO to get the wav files out. I don't really like to use grooves inside of Sampletank that much, because I like to chop things up. Having the wav files allows you to do that.
The Studio Drums and Eclectic Drum Capsules are both very nice. The Studio Drums is a collection of GM and I-Map drum kits. The Eclectic Drum Capsule is a collection of electronic sounding drums. It has things like 808 and 909 kits, etc. These capusules work fabulously with the Groove Monkee Midi drum loops.
I have a feeling that most of the ground covered in the Capsules will be in Studiophonik, though.
One other thing, if you buy on ebay, you can't get $5 worth of epointz for referring harmonygardens ,, and won't get you closer to Platinum status. I think I would call Elijah, and talk it over with him.

esoundz will match any legit dealer's price if it can be proven such as a link to the deal on ebay or anywhere else it is advertised. Actually, dealers aren't supposed to advertise below "MAP" but in case they do then they deserve to be price-matched by esoundz or any other dealer.beergeek wrote:Thanks guys...here's the deal...
