Hi,
completly forgotten how to do this (maybe you can't anymore, i don't think i've tried since VST!)
i don't want to duplicate the MIDI track, just route the output from one track to two plugs to layer up a couple of sounds.
cheers,
jon

The easiest way to do this is simply duplicate the track, then send output from the duplicate to the second VSTi.
Duplicating a MIDI track requires almost 0 resources, so it is pointless to resist.

Other than duplicating the track (by far the easiest way) the only other way I know to do this is to use a bridge like CHAINER as the VST--then load your 2 instrument VSTs into CHAINER.
However, duplicating the track is not only easier, it gives you an infinite number of additional options for each VST layer. For example, you can mute or independently pan individual notes in any layer, do delaying tricks, etc.
Hope that helps.

i guess you are right, it's just that i seem to remember an option (perhaps it was in VST, so it's gone now) where you could add a second, or 3rd output.
this meant that you didn't have to move parts on several tracks as you change your arangement. is this the sort of thing a MIDI effect could ahieve if there is no other way?

thanks for the suggestions - really simple once you see it - select second synth as the FX connection, turn on the send and away you go!
