I was searching Google to try and figure out what the 'splice' button was all about (thought it must be some sort of hack applied to the original hardware) and I ending up finding a video of it in action as the first hit.

Sounds pretty nice to me, though I don't have any basis for comparison to the original.

I tried it and it sounds really close to what I remember of my old RE-201. Another nice job by UA.
