The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

So when you mix it in your other program the snare, kick, hats, etc are on their own channel but they are already arranged from the sequence from FL.Jason Brian Merrill wrote:I use BFD, with its 17 outputs -- In FL, I put the snare top and bottom on one channel, kick in and out on one, hihat is alone, toms on one, cyms on one, then i export those channels, and the 3 room mic channels seperately.jmbriley wrote:Are you saying you export just one wave or the tracks broken down by instrument. If I export say the drums should I export the snare and kick separately or as one.
I then mix them in my audio editor.
If FL improves its playlist/audio recording ability -- I plan on using it exlcusively for EVERYTHIGN.

Queers and Queenies use iTunes, Real and WiMP. Real men (lumberjacks) use Winamp.

I use fl for nothing but rendering loops and midi files and sequence them in acid. One of the good things about using it solely for that is the fact you don't have to pay for it
but i did decide to be fair and pay for it a few weeks back, but they (image-line, a BELGIAN company) only accept U.S $$$'s as a currency, so f**k em, i'll keep the demo and get all i want from fl anyway...

Don't hold your breath for that. Judging by the looptalk nonsense of everyone getting kicked in the balls when mentioning more audio recording stuff I would be shocked to see any improvements in this area. I hope I'm wrong, but..Jason Brian Merrill wrote:If FL improves its playlist/audio recording ability -- I plan on using it exlcusively for EVERYTHIGN.
Does this look familiar to you:
OP: "FL rocks, but I want feature x to be better because I y when I z".
FLMOB: "you whanker, feature x is the best. people who y are morons! die! and throw your z in the garbage!" *kick to the balls*
That frustration aside, FL definitely could use improvement on the audio recording side of things if it was ever to be used as the uber-host for /all/ things as you say, like for instance any multitracker with it's track and arm/solo stuff and automatic filesystem handling of waves without naming them each time etc.
Right now it's just easier and much less cumbersome (and I think this is part of the argument against improving it) when sitting FL as a VSTi or rewiring it into a audio tracker.. Which is a logical assumption to make. I think the future of FL is bright and wonderful, I just get frustrated reading looptalk. Some of those dudes are the worst gang of thugs around. It's like hiring big impatient mafia gang to do your tech support.
The playlist needs improvement you think? Honestly? I think the playlist is pretty good but I'm not a mega-hardcore user of it. What kind of improvements would you put there?

i wish the playlist would be something more like Acid pro or project 5.i get kind of confused in the playlist.lol.also i wish to see the automation over the patterns or files.maybe seeing the midi files instead of a block in the playlist.
