My picks are the Samplizser, Kinetic Sound system, Jump and Frinka. Nice ideas.

Oh yah,
thanks CC4. :)
I actually don't really care whether they're hosts or not.
I think Radium looks interesting.
Going to try it on Linux.

dont know what its like now (although i still have the old free version) but it was quite good MIDI/Audio seq way back, 2000-ish. First thing i tried on a PC.

Is Jazz++ a host now? It wasn't last time I used it (which was a while ago, I admit).

If you do an advanced search on KVR for a host the following items are included: Audio Editor, DJ Tool, Format Adapter, Hardware Host, Modular Environment, Notation, Plug-in Chainer/Rack, Sample Conversion, Sequencer/Multitrack, Tracker, Virtual Studio. So I generalised and said "host" adding the quotation marks.

I've got all of those beaten. I'm making a new host that is so unknown that even I didn't know about it until I started typing this post.
Excuse all the blood.

Ahh, every program I use is a host for me.
Or wait, am I a host for every program I use, making them all plugins?
What is a plugin really?
This reply is sort of a plugin isn't it?
Or, oh, maybe only if you use it.

If a plugin lays in the forest,
but there's no one their to use it,
is it still a plugin?

I just realised that the guy who made Radium is also responsible for k_vst~.
k_vst~ is a PureData external that allows one to load VST plugins into PureData.

So is PureData a host?
A partial host?
A host if you have good hacking skills?
A host for hackers?

I just don't know,
anyway,
thanks CC4 :D
