Universal audio have always had reasonable pricing , If TC had made the space echo for the powercore you'd of paid at least $700....think about it
how much of the UAD-1 processing power is used for one instance? I remember seing 50% somewhere a while back, but maybe that changed?

I miss my original RE-201 sometimes. But I don't miss having to service it.

I'll stick with my E-Phonic RetroDelay and OhmBoyz.

It's 35% on one card at 44.1KHz

Im running 2 UAD-1 cards so when i open 1 instance of Space echo i get a 17% hit on my meter , so if you only had 1 UAD-1 a single instance of space echo would have a 34% hit.

I tried it out, and to me it didn't sound that good. I've only played with an echoplex, so I don't know if it sounds true to the original.

This is the first UAD plugin that I didn't give a damn about before it was released, but HAD to buy after trying the demo. It took a few hours of trying to get that Space Echo "vibe" from my other delay plugs before I finally gave in. I love this thing.

for the "oh you poor stupid fools can't be serious about the arcdev one, you obviously haven't blah blah overblown ego blah" guys...

try the 200, the black one that is mentioned earlier in the thread. It does have smooth delay modulation.

no, it's not as full featured as the uad one.

and no, it doesn't cost 300 dollars plus a dsp card either.

if you have the money go for it.

no need to be insulting to those who don't, or don't need the features of the real deal.

I didnt mean to say the guy did bad work, hey for a free plugin its very nice.

direct comparison to the modeling on the uad-1 tho? no, thats insane.

its not "just a delay", anyone thinking it is just a delay should just use a delay, right?

if you dont need the behavior emulation of the uad-1 then you don't need it, right? thats pretty hard to debate.

if you do need it uad-1 is the only one that has it. gotta be the best spring reverb model ive heard along with the only echo that captures the regeration feedback effects.

trivia: on the original star trek tv series the phasers were done using space echo feedback regen.

its kinda like analog synths, if you never used a moog you might be very happy with model-e after all its "just a synth".
