shane i feel you for what youre trying to do right now. trying to control all those parameters with just a couple controls is a hellish configuration experience. best of luck to figuring it out!

Thanks. I've got a breath controller, but I couldn't get it working tonight. I was hoping to use BC to control the most radical feedback envelope, a joystick for vibrato, and perhaps a foot controller for gain structure issues. Then a volume knob for swells. It's a lot of stuff, but as a guitarist/bassist I'm already used to the foot part and the swells. Ironically, I still apply lefthand vibrato even though my instrument hasn't a clue. It's just a habit.camsr wrote:shane i feel you for what youre trying to do right now. trying to control all those parameters with just a couple controls is a hellish configuration experience. best of luck to figuring it out!

That looks interesting for sure. And the price looks very reasonable. I'll download it and see what happens.

If you still have Reaktor I can make a controller rig you can assign to all the other instrument's parameters..

@Sickle
Last year sometime I was messing with a similar desire and you PM'd me with the names of two or three Reaktor instruments that were in the ballpark that I'm exploring here. Can you remember what those were? They were very CPU hungry but that doesn't matter at this point. I'll slave my laptop for this one instrument if I have to.

They were Gabriel Mulzer's. I also have an ensemble made since that uses an X/Y to morph between 4 incoming sources that has a semi-random algo for both axis that rachmiel and I built last year. I can post both here in a few minutes.

Cool! Thanks.
Here's a snippet from something I'm working on that kind of shows the context for why I need this type of sound. This is very much in progress--it's just a direction. There's no vocal on this but I'm doing a cross between the guy from Demilich and my own take on tribal cookie-monster vocals. And there will be synthetic female voices mixed in there for a My Dying Bride sort of amalgam. Beauty and the beast type approach.

In the end the HAMMER[SCAPE] project is going to be a funeral doom type vibe with proggy elements and a heavy bent on exotic drums. I'm trying to synthesize all my influences into one thing for a change.

Ok, real quick, if I slave an X/Y's controls to 2 assignable midi outs, how many X/Y's do you want?
I have 4 in there as of now, so this gives 8cc's you can assign to control anything else you connect Reaktor to.

When in doubt, make it go to 11.Sickle wrote:Ok, real quick, if I slave an X/Y's controls to 2 assignable midi outs, how many X/Y's do you want?

I think 8cc's would be plenty unless I think of something amazing to do. I just grabbed all Gabriel Mulzer's stuff. Maybe next weekend I'll have time to play around with them. Thanks for the tip.

Load it up in eXT, load up your instruments, connect Reaktor to your instrument's midi in, load this ensemble, assign your midi CC's, open the target instruments then open their CC maps, create your slots, match the CC #'s up, and let 'er rip.
The X/Y's are valued at 0-127, so they match exactly.

I hope you like my autograph.

It's cake; I can make you an eXT preset with everything pre-routed to a common instrument we both have installed..
