Cheers guys I have downloaded some of the recommendations and will see what I think!

Btw, if you want to go commercial, I can't recommend the Arts Acoustic Reverb enough. It's just brilliant and pretty low on the good old CPU.

Haven't seen an MDA reverb either, btw.

I'm pretty that was something of a typo. If you use Google to search mda-vst.com for "reverb" you get zero results.

I never liked plate reverbs much of any kind and i don't like even a fraction of the available VST reverbs. But that i don't mean that they're crap, many people make nice music using them.

Sounds like you have much the same views as me regarding reverbs?

I can live with the VSTs I have for instruments but really want something more natural for vocals. What do you use?

Try the AA Reverb demo, seriously.
Sure, would cost you around 200 bucks - but you may not regret it.

Also, as said, try Silverspikes RoomMachine844. It's better than one might think at first. Even way better. Try to send small portions of it through some modulation effect to have it sound more lively and also experiment with an EQ on the reverb bus.
For additional space, try a very low leveled delay (tempo based doesn't harm) in front of it.
That's my standard bus routing: Stereo delay, reverb, modulation, EQ. I have the delay, modulation and EQ switched off by default and only add them if required. And I usually only use minimal amounts of delay and modulation.

Hi Jamieh1 - as you are findng all ears are different - one of my favorite's is Ambience - decent sound - can do a lot of tweaking with Ambience - the programmer is a nice guy -

Garritan's Personal Orchestra uses it in his orchestra program - that speaks for itself. Try it - I just think the guy did ia great job for a free verb.

God bless

not necessarily only has to do with the quality (which is not too bad, but nothing special, there are better free ones imo) but the licensing maybe was cheap and easy? :P

You could try two of my own reverbs:

MutantReverb
Cinematic Reverb

Both available here: http://www.gregjazz.com/index.php?page= ... 0Downloads

And I love the free reverb "Ambience" (which undoubtedly has been already mentioned in this thread at least several times)
