Anyone tried it?

Is it worth the download?

"Limited functionality" is about the only info they have on the site about it.
Does anyone know what it will and won't do?

I remembered I tried it a few months ago: needed to translate akai S5000>Halion. Of course I couldn't do it with the free version. So, this doesn't answer your question, but definitely, don't get too excited about it.

Written from "about Translator Free" window "

"The following features are restricted :
- You can only read/write one instrument object to an empty akai,Roland,Emu,Ensoniq,Kurzweil, or Mac disk or Virtual Drive
- Bulk translations are disabled, and Multi-selections are non-functional

- You can only attempt a DOS->DOS translation once every 60 minutes.

- SMDI sample transfer is disables ;however, you can view samples on a SMDI sampler.

- Property Sheets are read-only

Everything else is fully functional"

Thanks Canned for the info. I'm just trying to work out if there's anything it can do that I can use. I'm still none-the-wiser though...!

Off to go trundle around the website again...

The download is free, so it's worth it, definitely. Works great, the Free version is designed to demonstrate the program nd take care of temporary needs, but for prolonged usage we encourage buying it, of course. =)
