Brad Delson From linkin park uses a PRS a lot of the time too so if you have loads of money to throw around add one to your shopping list (and one for me too if you like).
Also, I saw some videos of LP in the recording studio and they had 2 mesa boogie stacks side by side. they were Dual rectifies i think, with 4x12 cabs. not sure if both were miced or not but it wouldnt suprise me if they were, both with different settings perhaps. A big part of the LP guitar sound is scooped mids, yet somehow i hear a lot of middle in their recordings so it must be magic!
Oh and Finally, the guitar sound is gated real hard before the amp.
Can I get that Linkin Park wall of sound with L1?

Excellent contribution, EJo. Glad I skipped that "forgettable contribution in the studio" moment. Sounds a downer experience best avoided.
I have a small low-budget home studio to entertain myself. I hadn't been recording much the past few years. So, I've been playing catchup on the technology game. That's why I'm here; asking questions, learning. Plus, it's cool to meet people like you.
I doubt I have the creative genius of the artists you mention, but that doesn't mean I cannot make music that would entertain people of that caliber. If you are alive and passionate, regardless your skill/talent level, you will connect with people in a very real way. I really believe this. That's why I have no pessimism for lesser talent/music. Us lesser folks can still connect. I just started recording again. Am I Pro Studio worthy? How did I do? http://www.vsplanet.com/mp3s/l/leonards ... urney5.mp3
I regard my comments as complimentary to what you are saying. I'm more or less, contrasting and coloring your impressions.
Awesome link, Cyberpink. That link is a fantastic resource. ..even if that guy needs a vacation.
Excellent, Nobrain. Thanks! Leonard
