yeah cool
i jumped on it yesterday, and it's nice to finally have the reWire. Actually, i think their marketing strategy might be working on me
Testing it out i found myself having fun, and ended up making a track that sounded kind of like monolake. When i ran out of plugins, i was kind of like
but I used to put EXT in live 4 lite, so i might try that.
When i get though school, i might actually buy this.

Shit yeah!
I'll rewire this little beauty up to tracktion and use it as my glitch/beat contortion plugin!! I had to risk death to clamber into my attic, find my m-audio delta sound card box with original lite 2 serial number to get it, but it looks to be worth every nerve-wrecking second
Thanks so much for the heads up.

hey.
try temporarily obscuring your VST folder and see if it loads. I was having a nasty time with a couple of plugins. I had to take them out.
sometimes you can see which plugin it is trying to load when it dies (if that is the problem).
hmmm. wish i could help further.

I had a similar problem with several plugins with the Live 5 demo, I just removed each one that crashed until it was set, then added the plugins back to my VST folder and rebooted Live. Vaz Modular and energyXT were two I had to remove.
But if it crashes on start, chances are it's not even getting far enough to scan your VST plugin.

I have removed the VST folder I use with 4 just in case but it did not help.
The problem is that I get an error message saying it can't load a wav file that's apparently in the demo project. (I found this file in the subfolders of Live, so it's there at the right place and I changed the archive attribute to see if it would help but it did not.) Then it crashes.

I don't care too much anyway.
Must be OS related I reckon.

... I've seen the "student pricing" on a couple of educational (only) retailers sites. It was exactly the same as the Live lite/full version - upgrade price.sgx wrote:Does anyone know if Ableton offers an academic price for the Live Lite to Live 5 Full upgrade? The upgrade (non-student) is about the same price I could get the full Live 5 for. I'm thinking about grabbing a trigger finger (which comes with Live lite) then upgrading if this is possible.

Ah, effing heck. Or something equally inoffensive.
My Live Lite 4 is the Line6 version and Line6 hasn't swung the same upgrade deal yet I guess. My Delta version turns out to be 1.5.2, not Delta 2. So I bought 2 products, each with a Live Lite version, and I still get no love.
Bah!
<crosses fingers and waits for Line6>

... You might not be missing out on anything more than frustration, if what I'm experiencing is any example. Like those above who've had install troubles, my update choked on ALL the vsti's (I moved them)THEN choked on it's own .dlls 'ocean' something (as I recall), within it's own 'program folder' - then "error" - then shuts down.Lunch Money wrote:Ah, effing heck. Tried it on two different machines, with exactly the same results. POSSIBLY the download file is currupt. Oddly, when installing on either machine, the install application insisted (in so many words) that my screen resolution was inadequate, and that I should consider setting it to AT LEAST 800x600 to use Live affectively
... I was really excited about this too, as I thought maybe I could just ReWire 'Lite-5' into my full version of '4' - but, maybe no.
best.
