I can't mark any chord progression symbol in the Piano Roll Window!!! There's no a chord track, and the marker track can't be seen in the Piano Roll Windows!! When I work at Logic or sonar, I can do things in this way!!

For such a Powerful software, I am wondering how garbage brained idiots the designers are !!!!

Then work at Logic or Sonar. What kind of garbage brained (idots <- great spelling by the way) the user who can't figure that out is.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Maybe a few more exclamation points would help solve this problem!!!!!!

:)

Work with logic or sonar. Problem solved. Yea?

Also rumor has it; the last person to call a steiny a garbage brained idot [(rofl) that is teh funnay], wound up dead in some back alley behind a gay biker bar in germany.

Be careful what you wonder about publically, johnny 5.

What is the problem ? I read and read and still don't see the problem. What are you trying to achieve ?

Okay...

I thought it was because i'm danish that i didn't understand what Jonathan1977 is trying to do.

Jonathan1977, you should be happy when you can choose between Cubase SX, Sonar and Logic.

Not many people are so lucky... or rich.... ehhhh...or whatever :!:

I've put my quest on the forum when in the period of Cubase sx2. But there's no update for such a demand. They didn't care about our users' request!! So angry!!

grymmjack you mustn't be dead for the biker is only interested in your butt.

You do know that Cubase has a robust Score editor, right?

I use Logic at company. Several years ago I used Sonar in my pc home. Now comes Cubase sx. I am satisfied with Cubase almost everything except this point and his stupid Marker track.

Most of the work we do in arrangement is to be done in the Piano roll windows when editing midi. If we can see the chord progression symbol in the Piano roll windows, my work would be more efficient especially when the song lasts so long and I can't remember which chord shoud be in the next bar. I hate to look at my paper when using computer.

I think the Stein should has a kind consideration on my request.
I hope we can do it in this way in their next future update.

good f**king luck! As a steinberg customer and frequent sx3 forum reader I pretty much know they only listen to mainstream requests, jump on all possible DAW bandwagons, ignore bugs, and add new "innovative" features that are more akin to brainfarts.

yep, you must somehow connect your feature to some industry buzzword. Then you will instantly get a new feature that doesn't do anything, but will have many menu options and a keycommand that doesn't work.
and add new "innovative" features that are more akin to brainfarts.
hey now this is totally unfair, all of their new innovative features are really VST 5/32 features that were quite useful and have been missing for 3 years.

that too. I was thinking how cluttered the app can be at times. Adding new features nowadays just seems to add clutter to the software. They just slap things on it without thinking the overall picture thru. There's something fundamentally wrong in sx3 streamlined workflow, and I think the UI needs somekind of overhaul by ergonomics professionals.

I can't point my finger at the exact flaw, but it nags at me constantly. The extra click here, the extra move there, the extra push there, the needless buttons there, the cluttered menu there. you get the idea.

Amen to that.

I can point my finger at a whole lot of exact flaws, but they would only prove what you said.
Seriously, it's so bad I'm finally getting a Mac. 4 years of waiting and still nothing even halfway as elegant and ergonomically laid out as Logic. It's enough.

I allready said so in another thread: I seriously tried to like Cubase but it's impossible. It will allways only be a tool at best, but it will never feel like an instrument.
I even forced myself to not open Logic for around a month (simply didn't take the dongle with me when touring) and almost found myself looking for a cracked version because I simply couldn't stand the pain.
I seem to find a new bug or serious shortcoming each time I open SX. Latest addition: When dragging your project window onto a secondary monitor, the scrollwheel won't work anymore. Great programmers I have to say.
Oh, and another one: No stereo FX on mono tracks. Let the bus routing madness begin... what an incredible miss out.
But hey, it's all so professional.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.
