The automation folder in 5.x isn't working as intended on a variety of occasions. I'm too lazy to check for right now, but please believe me. Has been the number one reason for a whole bunch of my last bug reports back in the days. At least it made me stop entirely to bother with it at all.beej wrote:Incidentally, in Logic 5+ you can edit track-based automation using the standard automation features, but also open the automation folder and edit/transform/cutpaste/loop it etc like conventional MIDI data as well - *and* you can also use standard midi controlls in the usual way. Pretty flexible.
I can only hope that there's something similar to eXT whenever I get my MacBook (should be in autumn). Fortunately NIs Kore is looking promising.
Having said that, it's too bad you can't use the plugins coming with Logic in any other environment. Their internal MIDI implementation simply sucks ass majorly, no matter how you put it.
