Hi there,

I know that most of the peolple who already have it seem to be fairly busy
But, pleeaaaase, when someone of you returns to your AdvancedMode and tweak it to become one of those large modulated halls/plates - could you hit the record button prior to it?
Posting a link to the file wouldn't be all that bad either then

Thanks a lot & cheers,

I will be working on the Lex presets at some point. We're going to do some general free reverb presets on esoundz (and some extras for anyone who bought CSR from us, thanks).

I just spent most of this evening running my guitar through all my favorite Amplitube presets, but killing the FX reverb and putting CSR at the end of the chain instead. It really makes a big difference. Fun indeed. :hihi:

So many plugins, so little time...

Hey guys,

Okay, I'm getting tired of dongles (already have 2 that I have to drag around), so I've been avoiding products which require them, but I'm starting to weaken on that stance, at least for CSR (possibly).

Berfab's review on eSoundz got me thinking. Currently, I use Logic and use Space Designer or Platinum Verb for most of my reverb needs. Has anybody used these plug-ins in Logic along with CSR and done any comparisons? If so, I'd be interested in your views as to whether CSR really adds something that SD or PV can't really achieve. Audio clip comparisons of SD and CSR on the same source material would be fantastic.

Thanks for any feedback you can give.

Well, Space Designer and CSR are going to be very different since SD is a convolution reverb. I have them both and when I use Logic I like SD and also the Platinum Verb. I mean, it is pretty good for a built-in reverb. It is better than you usually get with other hosts. It doesn't quite sound like CSR though and of course is not as deep in programmability either.

I suppose it is safe to say that Logic users can certainly get by without having to get something like CSR. But, who ever said anyone wanted to just "get by"? (just kidding, it usually has to do with budget and the Logic package offers a lot out of the box). I think CSR is one of those things you get because you just want a great studio reverb sound that you'd get from a more expensive hardware reverb. You treat yourself to it like you would say an Avalon mic pre. It's not that you NEED one but... it IS going to sound good so... you know!

It's one of those things that when you have it and bother to run things through it (like taking the reverb off ST and run it through CSR instead) you appreciate that extra flavor that you have. Berfab is hearing that for example. Sometimes you don't know you even needed something until after you have it and then you know you wouldn't want to be without it.

Thanks, Squids. That's very helpful perspective on it. I'll mull it over some more, but it does sound like something I might like to get (at least eventually if not immediately), just for its depth of programmability/automation. Maybe not "need," as you say, but it does look like a fun item.

Cheers,

Yeah, actually with the automation and the matrix modulation it is also a really interesting sound design and performance tool for those that are adventurous. I was messing around with it today in fact by taking some ocean wave samples and running it through some formant manipulation effects and then into CSR. It was like an alien planet atmosphere or something. Actually, here I uploaded it just for the heck of it. Check it out. It's weird. http://www.sonicreality.com/squidscorne ... ceanfx.mp3

That's not an example of CSR's usual thing. But, of course, on the odd side of experimentation you can have some fun with it (especially for ambient music or sound design for media).

Just popping in to say I've been having a blast messing with the CSR suite the last 2 days. I doubt my material's up anyone's alley here, but you're welcome to check out the Music Cafe for a hefty dose of the Hall and Inverse plugs I used on a dark ambient track:

Trippy! Kind of reminds me of 2001 (although the apes seemed to have less problems in that than your pic ;) ). Twisted and dimented. I see someone's having fun. My alien ocean would fit quite well in a track like that. ;)

did an initial review of CSR and also put up some sound samples in this thread... http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 64#1731564

I got mine yesterday and couldn't be more impressed! No reverb out there sounds like CSR...Squids, you were not hyping it, you were just telling the truth!

I just ordered the CSR crossgrade and the AT2 upgrade from eSoundz and got upgraded to platinum membership. I hope my wife won't see the orderconfirmation or I'll be in big trouble :x ....
