nope, it isn't - in the sequencer there's a 'move up' and a 'replace' command and in the main area there's also the replace-function but that's it...Sascha Franck wrote:Maybe dragging is possible somehow as well (Jens will most likely know)
Quite a big disadvantage in Cubase SX3 !!!!!

Ah, ok.
Maybe one could force Jorgen to add some "exchange selected modules" function

You know what I would love? (let me see if I can describe this properly) If you could just drag a module and when it crossed one of the cables, it automatically is inserted in that path. For some reason, that's what I expect to happen with modular systems, but none of them work like that.
And do you have to always right-click-disconnect and the left-click-drag to change a path? How come you can't just grab one end and pull it to a new object?
Just curious. Insanely cool program. (Boy is this off-topic now, eh?)

Nah, I don't have a prolific user profile
Also, there's more important things. Re-cabling modules is actually working quite fast.

all good suggestions - just start a new FR-thread in the eXT-forum
don't worry about going o.t. b.t.w. - this is kvr after all...

I'll mention it on the other forum, thank, jens + Sascha.

That's a great idea. But I'd combine it with a modifier key, as sometimes you might just like to tidy up things, thus accidentally (or incidentally) crossing cables.bduffy wrote:You know what I would love? Seems like. And do you have to always right-click-disconnect and the left-click-drag to change a path? How come you can't just grab one end and pull it to a new object?
But then, this approach is actually rather safe. No accidental recabling and such. Kinda fool-proof or so.
Hm, but, come to think of it, I'd like to see "direct recabling" as well.
Guess we could just tell Jorgen about all these things, he's certainly one of the most openminded developers there are.

Cool. I went to go post something on that forum...boy, there are a lot of posts there, and guys who've made sites dedicated solely to feature requests...wow! Is there any point in posting my silly ideas? Think they'd notice?jens wrote:indeed - no doubt about that!Sascha Franck wrote: Guess we could just tell Jorgen about all these things, he's certainly one of the most openminded developers there are.![]()

Yeah, OK, I'll see what they say. Do I get the impression there is a v2 update on the way?Sascha Franck wrote:Yes, they will. Most likely at least.
Oh, good idea with the modifier key - it does occur to me that the more careful cabling does prevent mistakes.

So, what you are saying is basically "Cubase plus eXT is nearly as good as Tracktion"..?Sascha Franck wrote:bduffy - as a Cubase user you NEED eXT. And yes, you needed it yesterday already!
Of yourse you don't need the sequencer portion of it (which I am not using either), but it's just freaking marvelleous as a subhost.
See, Cubase users are complaining about the lack of FX not being exchangeable (without completely unloading them that is). A no brainer with eXT!
In addition, you can even run FX parallely (without some wicked group routing scenarios, you just do it).
Then, you can layer synths, yay! Sure, you can record on multiple tracks simultaneously as well in Cubase - but it's something entirely different!
And finally (and that's where the true fun starts), you can control EACH VST(i) parameter with whatever MIDI controller you like. Just imagine, you'd setup a chain of a synth, a distortion unit and some delay, and by simply turning your ModWheel up, the cutoff would be slightly lowered (you can scale it how much effect the CC movements have), resonance would go up, drive of the distortion unit would raise as well and probably the delay's feedback too!
And, as if that wasn't good enough to make you wet your pants allready, you just save the complete shebang as one single preset to have it available once and forever.

You probably do.bduffy wrote:Do I get the impression there is a v2 update on the way?
Perhaps because it is...
IIRs, might be - but seriously, there's apparently enough T2 users using eXT in addition as well. Probably for good reasons.
