I tried to install Oatmeal yesterday.
My host is Sonar 5.
Thing is, I made a bit of a balls up installing it.
I only put the .dll file in my VST folder when I guess I should have unzipped the whole file there.
So when the DXi wrapper ran through it came up with error messages - "can't locate DAT file...blah" "can't locate some other file...blah"
Now I just OKed these messages...as I wasn't that bothered at the time.
So, I try to open up Oatmeal in Sonar and, of course, it opens with no GUI.
So I think....I'll delete the .dll file from the VST folder and unzip the whole Oatmeal download file there.
So I do that....but Oatmeal still opens with no GUI.
So I try various other things like 'exclude' Oatmeal with the plug-in manager then re-run the wrapper...or delete all the Oatmeal file and re-run the wrapper....and then unzip the file in the VST folder again.
But all that's happened now is Oatmeal has completely disappeared from the plug-in manager's list of plugs..it's not in the included or excluded list.
And...if I put Oatmeal in the VST folder now, the wrapper crashes when I try to run it manually.
Sorry, this is all very confusing and no doubt I haven't explained things to well.
Anyone suggest anything?
I just want to get Oatmeal working in Sonar.

Have you tried a full reset-and-rescan of the wrapper?
And whats the issue with SUBSonar?

probaly none, but as I'm using it I just wondered if somehow it was contributing to the problem in some way.whyterabbyt wrote: And whats the issue with SUBSonar?

Its possible that its Oatmeal at fault. However, if you downloadoddbods finger wrote: yes, done that

decompress it and run the batch file, it should create a file containing a list of all the plugins it finds registered with the wrapper. You may find there are duplicated or invalid entries.... (or even duplicate wrappers!)
Highly unlikely, since all it does is change textual registry entries already created by Sonar.whyterabbyt wrote: probaly none, but as I'm using it I just wondered if somehow it was contributing to the problem in some way.

Not sure if this will help (I only read part of your post) but for the GUI part maybe you need to enable 'Do not intercept NRPNs' in Cakewalk VST Manager. Absynth opens with no GUI for me and this solves it.

I've since fixed the problem many people had with Oatmeal and Cakewalk's VST wrapper. Check the Oatmeal thread.
