Ive never been one to sample much, but lately Ive been gettin the bug. I work alone at home, and dont know of too many ways to do it without what seems to be a long process. i usually tweak a VSTi to get a sound, then record it in Cubase. But this is where the process gets long, I have to find the sounds folder, take the sound out and load into my soft sampler. This is seemingly tedious process, especially if the sound doesnt come out right in the sampler, and I have to do a retake. Isnt there a way I could just take the sound from Cubases audio track and drop into the browser window of the soft sampler, like moving it around in Cubase? Does anyone know of a more efficient technique?

According to this page,

Halion 3 has drag and drop file handling:
"File Browser
A new File Browser featuring drag & drop support, favorites, sound categorization as well as database and indexing functions is on board package. "

I don't use it but this seems to be precisely what HighLife is for:

Cool guys, thanks. Ill check out the Disco demo, its cheaper, and has a better looking interface, not as busy as Halion

Shortcircuit also supports drag and drop from Cubase (and is way cooler than halion
)
