For EQ, grab Hydratone and the free posihfopit and PLPar. That still leaves you enough cash to grab voxengo crunchessor or Marquis.
Nothing in waves musician bundle can touch those plugins.

I agree with backpage - I bought the Bundle II - a really great package - RenEq is nice - - the RVox and RComp is well respected. And the Super tap is one of the best and Doubler is truly sweet - get Bundle II. One of the few packages that every plug is a tried and proven winner!aallvor wrote:that are both flexible and transparent? I've got $150-200 to spend, any suggestions?Best
God bless

I second posihfopit and there's tone2bifilter which is free also
For compression you can have a look at GUP1 by Kjaerhus it's the basic version of their compressors. Voxengo's compressors are good as well. You just have to go and try the demo's and decide what works best for you.

yes I agree... the Kjaerhus and voxengo stuff is really good quality. I also use Wavearts Trackplug (which is a EQ + compression inside one plug) which I've found is really nice to use too

Yes, Kjaerhus and Voxengo are also my favourite choice.

just as kingston said:
hydratone is one of the best eqs (if not the best one. and marquis is one of the best compressors (if not the best). really don't know what people like about waves, seems only interesting to get one of the big bundles in order to be "file compatible" with bigger studios. but talking about value for money i would go for hydratone and marquis, definitely!

I thought hydra was more of a boosting/coloring eq. I didn't know you could do surgical type cuts with it.

Hydratone is not what I would call transparent. Also, the original poster did not state for equalization (for individual tracks or for mastering).
The Golden Channel by Kjaerhus would be great for individual tracks. I really like Eqium (Elemental Audio)--a fantastic equalizer for all purposes. For a transparent compressor, hmm... Voxengo's Marquis Compressor? Elemental Audio's Neodynium?

Agreed. Since getting Voxengo Marquis, Elephant, and Soniformer recently, my productions are really improving. There's a preset in Soniformer, I think it's called "Balanced Mix" or something like that...works like a charm on most things I do since I tend to have huge low-end-consuming instrumentation. And the Kjaerhus high-end stuff is fantastic, too.PeterL wrote:Yes, Kjaerhus and Voxengo are also my favourite choice.

feyshay is right -- Hydratone is not known for transparency.
In your price range, it's hard to beat Voxengo Marquis for compression, and I'd take a look at Voxengo's GlissEQ and HarmoniEQ for equalization. GlissEQ is a dynamic equalizer, but the dynamic functionality can be turned off, and when set to high-quality/mode 2, I think it's an excellent, reasonably transparent, and extremely easy to use equalizer.
