... as individual audiofiles in liveslice?
i.e. i sliced a loop, now i want to save these slices each as an idividual sample ... is that possible?

no, although this feature has been requested, so it's on the list of things to come

This was the missing function for me that finally convinced me to buy Liveslice when I found out it was to be added..
I don't have time for any music at the moment, but I hope that when I do, it will have been implemented

noted - it's always good to know what features are on the top of the list of my users. It's a pretty simple feature to implement, since I already have the code to save wavefiles, all I need to do is to save one wavefile pr. slice. Saving slices from tracks is a bit more work, but not much really.

Interesting reading. I did see the thread, but I didn't post because the current versoin of LiveSlice has very few of the features on your list, and you probably don't want to wait six months before purchasing a slicer. If you are patient there's a good chance that LiveSlice will be your dream slicer within a years time.brok landers wrote:ohm, would you mind taking a look at the following thread?ohm wrote:noted - it's always good to know what features are on the top of the list of my users. Your ideas are very good, and I already added them to my wishlist. I especially like the "seperate slice endings" FR. I beleive beatcreator has a similar feature implemented in a slightly different way: you can "disable" a slice so it cannot be selected (it's treated like silence) - this approach is easy to implement, and easy to use IMO, so I'm gonna copy that
The whole host integration thing with drag and drop has been on my list for a while, together with Rx2 import this will turn LiveSlice into a more traditional slicer tool without compromising what it already is: a creative arranger tool, so they are pretty high on my list.
Graphical amp envelopes pr. slice will be implemented in the arranger only (but you can play individual slices from the arranger too). I haven't started doing that yet because I need to implement Zoom in the arranger for it to make any sense - you have to get close to fit an envelope on a single slice.
Filter envelopes are the only good argument I've heard for adding an internal filter instead of relying on external fx. Midi is simply not fast enough to run a smooth envelope - it has to be sample accurate, and thus internal. Now I'm not exactly a DSP guru but I should be able to grab a decent filter algo from some article and add that too. This will be version 2 stuff though.
The FR to edit all slices in either absolute or relative mode is actually possible in LiveSlice, although not very easy to use atm. editing all slices with the mouse works in relative mode, setting the value via midi is absolute - it should be changed so that both relative and absolute editing is possible both when using the mouse and midi.

wow ... what an indepth reply, thank you!
well, it will be never a wrong time for a decent slicer "to rule them all", so, of course, i have to (and i am able) to wait ...
just take your time, implementation takes as long as it takes ...
don't underestimate the filter per slice though.
as one might not only need it for creative purposes, but for "killing" frequencies that do nerve in a slice (like a bassdrum in a slice that actually contains a snare, whic is prefered in that slice). and yes, the env for a filter is verycool thing to have per slice filter, as one can shape the signal, greatly supporting the groove of a loop (in producing house or any kind of loopbased dance music) ...
