Hi everyone,
Firstly thanks to everyone who has been testing this for me and all the good feedback!
There have been reports of gfx problems... If you have silly stuff happening (you should see input & output specgrams that scroll nicely plus there should be sliders and other controls)... please tell me what version of Windows and type of gfx H/W you have.
Also what sort of preset behaviour does everyone want (apart from just working)?
What I have in mind (but have not implemented)
1. The most basic is preset editing (i.e. select a preset, change stuff and the preset is updated)
2. What about when you save a song? Should the user-presets be saved in your song??
3. A morphing slider between them (since some hosts don't have that built in)??
4. Other stuff??? What's the best behaviour that you've seen in any plugin?
Thanks,
Darrell.
PS, in case you haven't tried it: http://www.the-auditorium.net/viewtopic.php?t=3982
PS, I know it will ask you to log in. It will only take a moment. Promise.

1. yes - when you change a preset you could add a quick "store" button to store the current values
2. yes when you save a song - the current preset is saved and restored on load song
3. a morphing slider could be a neat addition. automatable
4. other stuff - maybe a cleaner not so artsy GUI.
thanks darrel for this great tool !

I had only a little time with it, but it is brilliant
1. seconded
2. seconded
3. seconded, that would be very good
4. what about 1 or more lfos to modulate settings? ( I have NI spectral delay in mind
)
5. dry/wet settings for each band
6. I like the GUI

First, may I say that I absolutely love your DtBlkFx!
My warning to you is that if you implement the changes you just listed I will
overuse this effect. I'm a firm believer in using effects as
an instrument and the only thing preventing me from designing a bunch of
"starting point" settings is just what you're asking here. Some applications
of DtBlkFx use too much processor power for my porr little PC so the amount
of tine it takes to develope a particular patch is often prohibitive for me.
The only glitches I can thing of I've had are sudden cpu spikes when changing
settings (to a setting that, unbeknownst to me, is going to use too much power
when I didn't know what the hell I was doing at first) which of course isn't a bug.
Also, sometimes the graphics of DtBlkFx crashes my sequencer or DAW but that's
fairly common for me with plug-ins that have anything animatd about them so I doubt
that it's common.
The preset-morph feature would be so fantastic I think I'm going to faint!
I'm kicking myself for not having noticed your 0.9 release and am going to go
explore it now! Thanks again! Is this your sole plug-in? I tried out the old
shareware synthedit a couple years ago in hopes of making something like this
but I couldn't so if this is your one forray into making VSTs know you've made
me a happy happy fx monkey.

I'm not seeing any gfx in the windows -
XPproSP2 with an Nvidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400
1. yes - with a store button
2. indeed
3. oh yes.
4. bypass button on each effect
maybe it's my gui problem rearing it's ugly head, but the older version had lines on each effect line to display the frequencies the effect was affecting - should it still be here?
love this plug

It's even more embarassing to realize I'd just woken up when I wrote that.darrell.barrell wrote:Runagate: Excellent enthusiasm! It's my only plugin.
Now that I've had tons of coffee I am a danger to myself.
I've used the new version all morning and aside from it being hard to know
what to expect when I change any given setting (I'm learning) I've had no problems.
