... hope the AT2 demo isn't that far away ...

Post

Damn...I think we owe some props to Squids....I'm guessing he passed along a boatload of info regarding having a demo....I'm also guessing that the AT2 demo will follow the release by the same amount of time...a few weeks...not that it matters to me, I already have CSR and I'll be getting the free upgrade to AT2...but still, Squids gets knocked about a lot and I think you can see the result of his efforts here.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SYNCROSOFT USB KEY YOU CAN NOT RUN THE CSR DEMO.
I guess i'll never even demo it, which is a shame - because the few reports i've read have been very positive.
And before anyone jumps down my throat, i'm not going on a 'dongle rant', it's a valid & honest observation as third party reverbs are something I have been looking at recently.

Don't mention ze dongle...

I ordered CSR based on reviews I'd read and the demos on their site and was a little afraid of the dongle, since there's so much ranting about it. Truth is, I got CSR 2 days ago and it's so frigging awesome that the key is now the last thing on my mind... I installed it and had no problems with it since. I did have to buy a hub but, other than that, I don't see what the big deal is. If the software is worth it (and CSR is!) I don't mind connecting one more little thing to my PC...

Post

LOL,, yeah, I got it without a demo, too. I always trust Squids' "hype", and you know what,,, it's all true!! There's a fine line between excitement, and hype, in this case, it's excitement. CSR is simply amazing. I LOVE it.

I've got Cubase SX, would the dongle from that work? Also do I need to
be connected to the net to install it?

My music computer doesn't have internet access

Post

yes, both program use the same dongle. You don't need to have internet access from your music computer, however, you have to take your dongle to your internet computer to download the licence directly to it...

It's a Power Buy, and one of the few things I'd say is safe to go for without a demo test..The suite has some of the best verbs I've heard since I started doing Digital Audio.

I've just been messing with the demo, I can safely say that is the best sounding reverb that's ever come out of my computer. Very nice.

Sounding good here too.

Unfortunately, I only got 25 of my 30 starts - not sure why that was???

Hallo Broken,
to install the CSR Reverb you need no Internetconnection.
The CSR first work only with the original USB Dongle.

With the Syncrosoft licence control Center Software you can transfer your licence from the CSR USB Stick to the Cubase SX USB Stick. For this transaction both USB Sticks must be available at the same time on a computer with a internet connection.I did it last week and it works great.
