I wouldn't be surprised if he'd had interest from major players.
His work is excellent & he has put commercial offerings to shame - I'd attempt to hire him/invest in him if I was in this game.
Cakewalk are gaining quite a rep for partnering talentd developers now aren't they?
Good move.

Who knows? It's all speculations,
Zio, please put an end to these speculations.
If it's true let me be the first to congratulate you.
You definitely deserve it.

I don't mind paying for great work I just hope the end result will NOT have a dongle.

I wish the best for you Guido! You certainly deserve to be paid for these wonderful PM's...but I too hope we will not see them with a dongle, nor have a larger company buy you out and then silence them.

I hope you're right! But if that were the case I'd think he'd pop in and reasure us. (We all getting a little antsy I think.)Maybe Ziokiller just bought himself a real saxophone (like he said he did) and is spending some time learning the instrument and seeing how he can better apply the real instrument's properties to his model. I imagine this could take some time, and then factor in the idea that Ziokiller really does seem to want to do these things right, I think this the most plausible explanation as to why we haven't seen a new beta/plug yet.

That sounds fully plausible to me. In fact if I was to make a really realistic imitation of an instrument then I'd most likely cough up the cash to get me the real thing to learn it's abilities before I put the last touch of the Sax plugin. It sounds really god as it is, BUT if he wants to go PRO then he needs to put the final touch so it IS PRO to 100%. (Just my thoughts) Basically he is doing the work and making the plugin so complete it can be. And he asked us for betatesters didn't he?Funkybot wrote:Maybe Ziokiller just bought himself a real saxophone (like he said he did) and is spending some time learning the instrument and seeing how he can better apply the real instrument's properties to his model. As a person's creative work approaches perfection, they often start to ponder deep philosophical questions. They may ask themselves - this is not my beautiful wife? (Oops - wrong millenium.) Anyway - they may ask - What does it all mean? What is the true path to development?
It is not unlikely that a developer, who finds himself just about to put the finishing touches on a profoundly realistic PM instrument will ... um ... find God. At this point, building an installer and uploading it to a website can seem far from germane to their priorities. I'm sure this goes some way to explaing the lack of freely downloadable PM instruments on the web.

I've seen it so many times before.
Guy gets a sax and gets all caught up in practicing (i was lucky enough to be working in a band that had a rehersal space i could use all night when i got my first sax).
Then once hes soundin pretty good he'll get all caught up in all the girls.
We will probably see him again sometime in '09.

Can you practice all the time if you're new to reed instruments? Your lips don't start to bleed or anything?? Seriously. I know what happens to virgin fingers exposed to the guitar...!
BTW, the sax guy in my band (time way back in the 80s) went for the "man in white suite, playing a white sax, with a smoke bomb inside" look.(1) Unfortunately, that look also required a pair of dark sunglasses, which meant he couldn't see the girls hovering around him in front of the stage...
(1) Well, it was kind of an old, spare sax...

And we mustn't totally exclude the possibility that he has a life.Funkybot wrote:Maybe Ziokiller just bought himself a real saxophone (like he said he did) and is spending some time learning the instrument and seeing how he can better apply the real instrument's properties to his model. A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...
