I'm not wild about them, but at least it's not the Pace dongle, and for Miroslav it was pretty painless... probably is/will be for CSR as well.

The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

I have the demo, will I be able to activate/register it online and not wait a week for some CD? i.e. is the download version the full version?

Can I (should I) go to the IK site to purchase CSR ( I found the quote at SR quite attractive anyway so maybe not?)

allen
Well, I can't say NOT to go to the IK site. But, of course, you can get it for less from any IK dealer so... you decide!

I do not make dongles a success or not a success personally. I have very little to do with them in fact. I actually don't particularly like them but I don't have any choice in whether there is one in a product like CSR or not. I didn't MAKE that product (we only sell it on www.esoundz.com as it comes). But, I understand why it is there. It's to protect from copying and the reason more and more software companies are using it is because it is more security against people ripping them off. Pretty straight forward. If anyone wants to be sad about it you can be more sad about the fact that people copy enough for companies to have to invest in a copy protection system like this.

But, there are plenty of other places on KVR to endlessly debate opinions about dongles. This company forum isn't the appropriate place. Let's get back on topic please.

PS. Reverse Engineer, your post was deleted. Comments like that can get you banned. So please be respectful of company forums and KVR in general. We don't support piracy here.

That's odd, I thought it was 30 starts or 10 days... I've avoided trying the demo because I *know* I'll buy it if I do.

Mine started off at 25 trials, unknown days.

What?!! Why the heck did I only get 10!

Strange. Here's the quote from the new on KVR:

The demo is fully functional for 30 starts for a grace period of 10 days. After 30 starts (or 10 days) the application will not launch.

If that is the case then it is bizarre. I have uninstalled it, so can I redownload and install again or has I spent my demo license?

Not sure. My guess is that once it has run to its limit then that's it (otherwise people would just keep downloading and installing it to have it for free right?). But, it should have given you 30 starts or run for 10 days like it said. I wonder why it didn't. Maybe you started it more than you think? I don't know. Odd. Sorry about that Gordon. Maybe JW knows more about it or a solution.

I opened it no more than ten times. I did have problems installing the license - I had to redo it a few times - it kept crashing - I had no trouble installing Philharmonik - it installed the first time. Oh well. I think I liked it enough to go for it. I'll just have hang on for a few more days to finish paying off my last esoundz purchases :D

Maybe something happened with that then. Probably. Anyway, you can get it at the crossgrade price which is sweet. I highly recommend it, especially for just a few hundred bucks. It's a workhorse reverb. Good tool to have in the shed for sure. Epsecially for the kind of music we do. Think of all of the classic albums that have been mixed with a reverb in the rack similar to something like this (or visa versa rather).

It's not something that you HAVE to have. It is just something that is really nice to have. We've all been making music fine without it. But, now that I have it I've stopped using some of the other reverbs I have and I feel like I have one I can rely on better to really add something to the track (instead of take away which some reverbs do with their grainy density).

Isn't my Miroslav dongle good for CSR as well, like the demo? I would seriously hate to tie up yet another USB port and I've found hubs to be unreliable.

Anybody know?
