Sonic Reality is not IK Multimedia; Squids doesn't have jack to make up for.

Yeah, it's certainly not my fault it is late (my faults would be Studiophonik being late... which SR does the sounds for). But, there's a lot of anticipation for this product. More than I've ever seen in fact. So, in our festive way I thought it might be a fun thing to do a few surpirse bonuses since people seem to really like when we do stuff like that. I have some cool AmpliTube picks here. Maybe we'll at least put a few of those in every box for the first 100 that go out. That is from www.esoundz.com which is an IK dealer and a sound outlet for SR, it's not IK.

End of day people can moan about the dealy but if you pre-order from esoundz you can be sure you are going to be one of the first to recieve it when it is released.

Another really cool thing about buying at eSoundz, is that over time, your purchases accumulate, and you can work your way into some nice extra discounts for being a gold or platinum member. eSoundz is sort of like a buying club for sound junkies!! I haven't bought anything from any other source for quite a while. I think Squids business model of offering first hand responses to our questions through this forum, the fun ePointz program, the membership level discounts, and GREAT products, is a winner. This kind of caring goes right through every level of the company.

Agree, I think it's time Squids gets some credit for the way he treats us. I don't see anyone out there doing as much for us as he does. Besides, he always takes the time to respond to every single one of our (some times stupid) questions, takes some heat he's not supposed to take (like the AT2 delay or dongles on IK products) and gets us the best deals you'll find. Most of the companies' heads, release their products and hide in their offices and I sure appreciate Squids doesn't do that.

I think squids gets plenty of praise from his customers it is normally the people who have not dealt with esoundz who are doing the bitchin'

Boy, do I agree with that. I've never found Squids to be less that cordial, helpful and responsive. In fact, my decision to pick up ST2 some time back was influenced in no small measure to reading his posts and appreciating his genuine desire to be helpful.

When I buy a product I consider 2 main things:

1. Does it sound good?
2. Do I want to deal with these people?

I'm sure a lot of companies could learn customer satisfaction skills from Squids and the gang. Little things like getting thrown a bone once in a while, epointz, membership discounts and actually getting your posts answered separate the men from the boys in my books. :)

Can't wait to get AT2, I'm holding off more than a few projects for it. 8)

Yes.

... and thanks guys. It's tough to do what I do sometimes because you're right in that I put myself in the position of having to take some heat. Like the whole copy protection thing. I just try to explain it so people understand why it is there and what the benefits and disadvantages are of it how I see it. Those that really read and understand my posts know that I hate copy protection too! I hate even the fact that it does seem to make a difference in sales too. To think that most of SR's products are vulnerable to people copying and how many ACTUAL users we have vs. the ones that pay makes me feel like we're shoveling sand with a sieve. But, I hesitate to copy protect all of our samples because that limits what you can do with them. So, actually, we're even one of the last commercial sound developers to still believe in the old "honor system".

But, you want to know why I believe in that? Because we have people that WANT to support us. Customers that are loyal and appreciate what we do and want to be legitimate licensed users of our products and own the real thing. Maybe not everyone who uses our stuff is that way. But, enough people to keep the business growing in a positive direction. You have no idea how thankful we are for that. This is why we go above and beyond for our customers because it is a two way street.

Look, we're all consumers too! I buy stuff all the time. I have the same philosophy as many of you. Is it a product I want and do I like dealing with these people? Honestly, I don't know why more companies don't get that this is how people think! It's pretty obvious. But, I think some companies get so big that they lose sight of that. Or they are so small and inexperienced to know that the customer is always right and sometimes you even have to eat it! We spend/lose thousands of dollars in the process of pleasing our customer-base with all sorts of accomodations. It's a risk. But, never have I seen it not pay off in the big picture with repeat business and customer loyalty. I only have faith in that because I know how I am as a customer.

I always push the point in the office "Would YOU buy it from us? Would YOU be happy with the product if YOU were the customer?". So, we're CONSTANTLY working on ways to improve every aspect of what we do. We learn from every situationn and pay attention to what the customers want and expect from us. We dont' always hit the nail on the head. But, that's the goal.

well, Squids, just so you know, I recently started buying from esoundz just because of you. I don't see anyone out there doing as much for their customers as you do so I thought why in the world would I give my money to anybody else when I know I'm gonna be well taken care of here? It's a no brainer to me.
Know that all the crap you take got you at least one new customer lately. A broke one, but a customer nonetheless :)
