Awesome! I read about these over on the thread in the Marketplace. I notice these are all refills, will there be some in .wav format coming up?

Loving the Studio Profile SE package.

Ah shoot...the ones that are up now are from the SE disc...which I already have...but the combinator does look cool, doesn't it!
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

Well, I hope that there's more coming then. I just read Squids announcement at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... es#1720981 and got the impression these would offer something I didn't already have...
I'm sure there's more to come though :)

Yes, this is great for Reason users!! I think the mini profiles are a cool idea. I love the instant gratification of the downloads. These are priced at a point where people can afford to buy a set or two at a time. You can get some more loops for your collection, by sort of cherry picking what you want.

I know I'm gonna buy some of these for sure. 8)

Yeah, we have them coming in different formats. Wave versions, Rex 2 versions, Apple Loops versions and Refills which you see now. The multitrack session versions will probably only be on the discs (because they are generally too large for download). However, you can see we have multitrack rex refills though (because rex and refill packing does at least compress the size to make it more download friendly).

The ones that are up now are Mini ProFile Refills taken from the big refill that is on the SE disc.

We're in the process of doing some updates for all of the SE users. However, it may take us a little time to give you everything we want to. So, please be patient. In the meantime, like I said, we'll put up some NEW Mini ProFiles this week (and in the coming weeks) which you can apply your SE credit towards OR just buy on their own ala carte (since the price is pretty darn affordable and a nice deal for premium quality loops like this).

So, we have some new loops from the following titles coming for download:

Nashville Drum Sessions
Latin Groove Sessions
Steve Gadd Drum Sessions (Steely Dan, Paul Simon etc.)
Ed Greene Drum Sessions (Steely Dan and 70's funk/disco)
Bun E. Carlos Drum Sessions (Cheap Trick)
Chicago Blues Drum Sessions

and more...

Well, I guess I'm doing something wrong but I'm not finding these loops useful. I mean, they sound awesome but they sound diferent when you put them back to back, almost like the were played on different kits. I hope the full version has differents fills and grooves for the same "song", otherwhise, I'm not sure how can you complete even a song with the loops provided. Because yes, I know you can edit the loops once you import them in a track, but the Nashville mini profile, for example, doesn't even have a tom on those loops... I think

I don't know, maybe it's me and I'm missing something. I'm not that good at running Reason anyway (specially Dr. Rex) so maybe it's my fault. I guess I'll have to wait until Squids uploads those video tutorials....

Well, the SE sets in particular are more variety oriented. However, each groove is a usable beat for a song for the most part. You can also vary it up by playing the slices (not to mention mixing it with the combinator... a lot of production options there). True about no toms if there are no fills. There will be other mini refills from Nashville though that should have it. You make a good point about having at least a few of those things. On the full disc versions you get large kits. Too large for downloadable products. But, maybe we can do some drums for ReDrum to have so you can customize a bit. Maybe we'll make them available ala carte too for download so someone can add various hits from the kit to customize their loops. I think that would help.

The other mini profile refills will have less diversity of different sounding loops and more variety within a particular group of loops that go together.

Anyway, it is usable and it should sound like the demo which puts it in context. If you like the grooves in the demo then it should give you the same thing but to use in your music. Good for writing inspiration at least for now until you can add onto it with some of the things I mentioned. Experiment with loading the Rex files into the NNXT so you can play the individual drums slices that are there as well.

Ok, that explains a little more about how they work. I really love the sound of the whole thing and I think I'll wait to get the full Profile, with the full kits.... that'll be totally awesome.
Thanks!

Yeah, that's really the best deal overall and the most flexibility. The Mini ProFiles are more for when you hear some grooves in the demo and for $15 or so you say "Ooooh! I want that!" Ala carte. Or a good way to get a little taste. Anyway, Elijah will let you apply what you paid for the Mini ProFile toward the full one anyway. No worries.

Don't worry Squids, I downloaded it so I pay for it :)

Well, in general, if anyone downloads a Mini ProFile and they want to essentially "Upgrade" to the full version on disc they can at least get a little break if they ask. That will be available in about a month I think. Maybe sooner.

oh cool, I will get the full version so I'll keep that in mind. Squids, you and your deals are gonna get me broke... or divorced... probably both!

But, what if you write a hit song with it? :hihi:

Then, I'd be able to pay for the lawyers....
