How might this be usable with an M-Audio Triggerfinger

I have been playing around with the demo within Live and it is quite interesting. I just put an order in for a M-Audio Trigger Finger. Any advice on how to use Liveslice with a Trigger Finger?

Very simple: The 16 pads are probably set to output midi notes by default - if not, make sure that's what they do. My guess is the factory default will be notes in the C1-C3 range.
This means it will trigger arrangements in liveslice. Basically you just need to go to the "settings page" and select the right note range to trigger arrangements or individual slices so it matches whatever notes jump out of the trigger finger.
To trigger arrangements live, you probably want to activate "toggle" in the LiveSlice settings this means that when you trigger one arrangement by hitting a pad, it will keep playing until you hit that pad again - check the "midi configuration" section of the manual if you need further details

The trigger finger even has faders, and it outputs midi CC's when you apply pressure to the pads - those CC's can be set to control any parameter of any slice or track.

I just got an idea btw: I'll add a display in the liveslice settings page listing the last incoming Midi message - this way you don't have to check the manual or use a seperate plugin to see what CC's are produced by your hardware (You'll memorize the factory settings quickly, but still it's nice).

Let me know how it works out. I've been eying that trigger finger thingy myself.

Another cool thing about live slice and the trigger finger (if you're using something routable like energy XT) is this.

I set the bottom 8 pads to channel 1, notes c1->g1
I set the top 8 pads to channel 2, notes c2->g1

I then cable the midi to 2 seperate instances of live slice, 1 set to receive on channel 1, one set to receive on channel 2. I load the same patch into both of them but set one to toggle mode and leave the other normal.

Now I can turn the loops on and off with the top 8 pads or just jam them along with the bottom 8 pads, I've got the same sounds at my finger tips but I'm not locked into just toggle mode.

=)
I just bought live slice yesterday and it's rad, I've had more fun with this thing than I've had in ages!
