I posted this on the I-Map threat but I figured not too many would read it there so I'll start a new one.

How many of you would be interested in esoundz releasing downloadable MIDI drum grooves and fills on I-Map mapping for the already released and upcoming products like the Infinite series or the Sonik Drum Capsule? I think they would be fairly easy and cheap to make for SR and very useful for some of us (at least for me!). I have some of the Groove Monkee stuff and I use it a lot but having this kind of loops for I-Map kits would be simply awesome!
Thought I'd throw the idea out there.

Sure, I'd buy them. Actually, I do like using midi loops mapped to different kits. I like the flexability and editability of midi patterns. I wish I was at good at doing I Map drumming as Squids is.

I think this is going to also be big when we start digging into Studiophonik.

That was really my idea, to have loops played by the same person who came up with the mapping... Squids is probably too busy to do that, though...

No, I have it on my list. I've been collecting them on and off for about 3 years. :D We'll release them this year.

:hail: oh man, I really can't wait for these. Thanks Squids!! you're always ahead of us.

I think ahead but some products are behind (as in "late", like Studiophonik). So, it balances out. ;)

But, it is products like Studiophonik that will benefit the most from 3 years of collecting Imap midi grooves so it all works out nicely in the end!

This would be good. I have a lot of I-Map kits that I just don't use, since my kit is set up for GM and Grooveagent is GM and all my midi files are GM. Even with using drum maps, I'm not exploiting the I-map kits to the full, so I-map groove files would be great please.

I have a bunch of I-Map kits also that I only use if UI have I have the time to play/program them myself. I do use BFD mostly now but the re are some great SR drum capsule kits that I still dig. There was a way to play IMAPs from a GM setup of slicy/fillin - drummer in Sonar. But I cannot find it. I remember it works well but you have to use Sonar to benefit.

I'd definitely buy them, never quite got into IMaps (similar to rollasoc, still on BFD, GA or GM), the IMap kits just sit there wasting.

OT question maybe...

I currently have GrooveMonkey Drum Loops (which I guess are all mapped to GM Drums), ST2 (which has I-Map drum kits) and Cakewalk HomeStudio 2 XL.

Is there a way for me have the GM to I-Map translation done so that the GrooeMonkey loops will sound correct when using the ST2 I-Map Kits?
Thanks!

For don don don... No need to waste them. There are some tools out there to "re-map" them via midi (such as in Cubase) to whatever you like. You can set a template because Imap is consistent.

Yes. Just what I described in the post above. Some people on KVR can tell you different tools that can do midi remaps of drums. It can be done in programs like Cubase, Sonar etc. We will research all of them though and provide a list at some point. For now though you can get some good suggestions from KVRians.

Thanks for the reply Squids. I look forward to the tutorial :)

I know this goes against your creating I-maps in the first place, but it would be nice if ST2/SS2 had a button/option to just move the samples around in the drum kit itself. Something like "I-Map to GM" :)

SR Users,

Good news...We do have our libraries mapped for I-MAP and you can download 585 free beats from our web site (left side, bottom). I've put together the 500+ beats with both IMAP and GM samples.

Current Groove Monkee customers can get the I-MAP files for their library or libraries for free - just email sales at groovemonkee dot com with your request.

Everyone can get a 20% discount now until the end of April using coupon code: imap20 8)

If there are any Sonar users that would like an I-MAP drum map and a CAL to convert GM to I-MAP, let me know and I'll create them.

Please contact me if you find any mapping errors. We sent these out to a few customers and no one has complained but we are open to your suggestions.
