Hi all,

My problem is this..when Im trying to record vocals in Cubase Sx or use various vocoder effects etc, even when I turn the volume of the audio track down in Cubase and talk into the mic, I can still here my voice. So Its like Ive not only got the mic audio going into cubase but Ive got the audio produced by the mic that would be there even if I didnt have Cubase open..(If that makes any sense? lol) This results in a slightly noticeable doubling effect...but also when I use a vocoder plugin the audio in cubase is layered with the audio outside of cubase so I can hear my untreated voice just as loud as the vocoded voice..this isnt normal right?

no thats not really the same problem as mine..he just wants to know how to apply fx to his voice in real time..I can do that already, trouble is I can hear my untreated voice at the same time (outside of cubase) I need some way of muting the mic outside of cubase so all I can hear is my vocoded voice etc within cubase itself. The other thing is that the "Direct Monitoring" selector in devices is greyed out..why is that I wonder? Ive got a feeling all this is down to these KX Project Drivers Ive installed for my Audigy card ..I just cant get my head round it

Ive done it! :)

I went into the DSP routing section of the KX Mixer and drew a direct connection between AC97 L/R on the prolog and the Rec L/R points on the epilog, and disconnected AC97 L/R from the xrouting....no more dry signal in the background :)
