So what do you suggest?
Well, I thought Unicef and staying with Habitat for Humanity are both OK, but I also see the point that we can give 150 dollars to HfH, or we can get more exposure through the U2 thing.

We did discuss the "musicians for musicians" thing before, and I thought it was agreed that there are already programs for that and that the musicians of NO are probably not among the ones in danger of being forgotten.

That's all...

I'm for whatever method will help sell more of the CD's. If we somehow get exposure through the U2 thing, then I guess I'm o.k. with that.

I'm not going to argue here except to point out that the housing situation affects everyone displaced from their home due to the flooding, not having a guitar affects only those that had a guitar in the first place.

alex,

Thanks for bringing the Red Cross issue to our attention. I defer to your choice. Whatever that is, it needs to be made clear on the website and also it needs to be changed on the www.cdbaby.com website blurb - because there we claim that we will be giving proceeds to both American Red Cross as well as HfH.

I love all ya'll's styles but can we get beyond the axe comparisons yet and vote on the topic at hand??

Nine songs out of ten I use a 'Sears Silvertone' guitar on me tracks that sounds (IMHO) incredible... Move on shall we??

U2 Charity or not??????

I already voted :x :hihi:

I thought many times in the near 300 CD's sleeping in a shelf. U2 are not exactly my point, but if they are a way to sell the CD's and make more money to help (anyone needed) that's ok for me. About Red Cross article, I'm very skeptical even without reading, not for it don't be true, but because I think whatever organization with power and money ends up dirt (whatever!).
Few people moved here so far and so much as you, Xander. If you think it's OK I'm with you.

Well Snooky,
A few pages back xander suggested the idea of piggybacking on the edge's project to help increase our sales. Start on page 266 and work your way up and I'm sure you'll understand better.

If something is unclear then just ask me and I'll try to help clear things up for you. :)

If Freeztar is still watching....

Keith,

Next month, I will be in Florida, (actually coming through Atlanta on 4/13 pretty late) and I will be not too far from Relevant magazine HQ in Orlando.

Relevant is a Christian magazine focused on being relevant to the world - it's culture, crises, character, etc. They feature articles on how to be socially responsible and a Christian at the same time - also have excellent music reviews (I found out about Sigur Ros by reading that magazine). Readership is made up of like-minded individuals similar to our effort here (not all are Christians but do care what goes on in the world) and I think their circulation is in the tens of thousands.

I'm a subscriber and also pay for subscriptions for my pastor of my church and for my brother-in-law, a worship pastor that leaves near me.

If you have any of the left-over extra copies, I promise to get one to Relevant magazine in person. No guarantee that it will make it into the magazine, but we can hope.

I've checked on the Phantom Tollbooth review ( www.tollbooth.org ) and the critic is still reviewing the CD.

If you want to check out Relevant magazine on-line, here's the web address:
http://www.relevantmagazine.com/

pm me if you can send me one or if you want to get together late 4/13 (I'll have me entire family with me - wife and 4 kids, and perhaps my cousin who lives in Hotlanta).

Sounds good to me Scott. Either way you want to make the transfer is fine by me (I'm a night owl so that's easy to swing for me). If you want it mailed instead, then perhaps I could mail it to your cousin to save on shipping.

Just let me know...

Cheers

Just thinking about vertical and horizantal marketing and...
We need to go horizantal (and no I don't mean lay down  ).
How do big bands do it...well, they release the album and then the marketing guys make t-shirts, figurines, coffee mugs, or whatever.
While expanding out our market might not necessarily generate disc sales, it will generate more funds.
It might not be worth all the effort, but I thought I'd throw it out there to see what ya'll think. :)
