Ouch, buyers remorse. Tell you what, we all experience that. Lots of people have really praised rayspace a lot, so I'm sure with some time and effort of reading the manual, etc, you will find something good.

You could simply consult your sig..
"The only mistake in life is to give up when confronted with failure."
So don't give up.. Learn how to program your own patches.. I HATE presets most of the time, but that doesnt make the synth/effect lame!

So what is it you're saying? The demo sounded better than the full version?Architeuthis wrote:www.argitoth.com/files/reverbtest.wav
First you hear Ambience, then you hear RaySpace. You will notice that the tail of Ambience has a much cleaner tail, good for techno, while RaySpace has a sort of annoying distrotion-type sound to it.

Architeuthis, you demoed the application and you bought the retail version because obviously you liked the demo...then all of a sudden, now that you're using the retail version, you don't like it anymore? There is something not making sens here.

It's the lack of time spent with it. The whole reason I doubt RaySpace was because my inability to get a clean tail with high frequency clicks.

I've listened to records at the store, liked them, brought them home and after a good listen or 2 thought they were not worth the spent money.

Call me silly but I like the added texture that rayspace has there. It sounds a lot more realistic.Architeuthis wrote:www.argitoth.com/files/reverbtest2.wav
Ambience first, then rayspace. Notice how you can hear the delays of Ambience. With rayspace, I cannot hear any delay.
On the other hand it also almost kind of sounds like it is at a lower bit-rate and you can hear the lobit death of the end of the tails. Does ambience have some kind of Oversampling function?

I haven't used RaySpace that much yet, but the two things why I bought it are 1) I like the graphics, and 2) it allows you to create your own 'unrealistic' rooms.
For realistic reverbs I use Princeton and MasterVerb etc., although probably RaySpace can do that too. But RaySpace and (other) convolution engines can do sooo much more.
btw. I remember reading in 'review' threads at kvr that RaySpace does sound quite artificial on some instruments, due to the granularity of the rendering...
