Just wondering.... how are the classic rock Stereo loops coming? Stylus is big on electronica, but would love to get my hands on these. I know you've got a million things going on, but just didn't want this falling through the cracks!
Thanks Squids for all the great stuff you do!

Uhhhhh. Woops! When I read this I was wondering what you were talking about and I have just discovered that all of the stereo loops for Classic Rock didn't make into the folder due to a mistake. You can see in the multitrack folders what grooves were supposed to be in there. Sorry about that. So, I am adding the stereo Classic Rock loops to the list of "extras" that we're going to be putting up as downloads for all Special Edition owners. That along with some Danny Gottlieb multitracks and some extra stereo fills and varations to some of the loops you have so you can have an idea of what that's like. That's coming next week some time.

Well, here's the deal. We're working on a version 1.1 which is a free update that should be available in 3-4 weeks. If there are any requests, comments, feedback anyone wants to give we're certainly open to hearing it. A few things have been found such as issues with the Apple Loops, some missing stereo files we intended to put on there and other stuff. That's what can happen when you try to cram a lot of things on top of a lot of things for a custom group buy. We'll do it differently next time.

I am leaving for Frankfurt Musik Messe this week. But, before I go I want you guys to have this for now. The lack of stereo classic rock and British rock loops on the SE was one of the biggest oversights I think. The multitracks are there of course but the stereos just didn't make it for some reason. I really hate to see anyone have to wait for it so here you go (these are just the stereo Wave and Rex2 files for now):

and

Please only copy/paste these links on Studio ProFile related threads though. They will be up temporarily so grab them while you can for now (they will be available for free to SE users anyway later on next month too... this is just for the anxious! ;) ).

Technically people who didn't buy the SE can also at least download those even though they don't have the proper license to use them. They can grab them if they want. If you want the license to use them then just buy the SE which is your license (or even buying the associated downloadable refill would suffice).

Again, please don't post those links outside of Studio ProFile threads so at the very least it is only for people who were interested in the discussion at least of Studio ProFiles (if it was to just be a free for all go get 'em thing to anyone then I might have to take them down and put them up in the proper place where only esoundz members and/or SE owners could access it).

But, anyway, I hope you like them! Let us know if there are any issues with them. There hopefully shouldn't be.

As always, you da man!
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

Squids-
I just downloaded the .zip files and I've been playing with the REX loops all evening. I love these things--very easy to load into a track and automatically lock up the tempo. And like I've said before, just season with a little CSR, and I'm good to go. I don't know how I lived without these before, but now I can't get enough. Looking forward to more REX stuff from you guys.

Especially good of you to post these files unsecured--but it is nice to get them sooner rather than later. :D

Have a good time in Frankfurt, and keep us posted on the news.

Absolutely. Put it right on the wall with the Danny G. swag!
Yep. Another big Tullhead. Sign me up (for both the DP ProFile and the signed swag)! ;)

BTW, Squids, can you explain how the Emerson SPF is set up? Is it all riffs, or are there comping loops or LH bass lines in there as well? I assume it is stereo only (doubt there'd be any need for mult-track on that one). Do you have him on B-3 as well as his Moog? I'm not a fan of keyboard loop sets (since that's one thing I can generally do myself),but, for Keith, I might make an exception.

Curious minds want to know....;)

Well, I've spent the evening digging deeper into the Studio Profiles SE collection. As I've said before, the REX files really are somethin' else.
However, moving over to the Cubase multitrack .cpr files has been giving me a bit of trouble. When I go to load it up, it resets all my ASIO drivers and settings. I finally got it loaded up and reset the drivers and it seems to play o.k., but I'm still not sure. Are the parts all supposed to be static audio samples (i.e. you can't adjust the tempo like you can with REX files)?
Has anyone else done this in Cubase? Am I missing something?
I think Squids may have addressed this in a previous thread, but I can't seem to locate it now that I need it (of course). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are you able to open the .cpr's in SX3 ?

My Cubase chrashes when I try to load any of the .cpr files.
What version of SX3 are you using?

I'm running 3.02. But in addition to the above problem where my ASIO settings are wiped out, I notice that if I just open the ProFiles .cpr file (without opening Cubase first) it opens into a prior version of Cubase--V. 2.02.

It's a bit heartening to hear that I'm not the only one with a problem. I really haven't read much from anyone else running Cubase. Perhaps we've uncovered a bug?

When Squids is back in the office, I'm sure he'll have some answers. In the meantime, can anyone else out there shed a little light?
