I have all samples, many VST instruments, I'm mostly happy with all BUT only with one thing I'm not sadisfied: with a snare. I have so many snares, but none of them is what I need. I need a real HEAVY/POWER METAL snare in WAV format. Does anyone of you have something like this, or could me help more?!?
Thank You

Yeah, Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Nevermore etc) posted some excellent samples on his forum. You can get them here: http://andysneap.com/media/drum%20samples/
You'll have to cut them up yourself.

Hmmm, you seem to be sorted already, but not quiet yet...kosowar wrote:I have all samples... I have so many snares, but none of them is what I need.
You have many snares already, so you can try to combine multiple samples to your taste. E.g. get the attack you love from one, and mix two or three others for the tail sound. Don't forget to repitch the old samples, so you get the tone you like, or maybe use an EQ also...

COOkie gave THE advice (ad also some drum room or gated reverb and compression)...
BTW, if you come up with something interesting, let us know and share, please. There's a huge lack of (free) punchy sounding snares on the net !

Have a look if something fits you needs here:
http://www.artistcollaboration.com/samples/drums/
Otherwise the first drumkit from hell which is very cheap nowadays, has 9 snares. And mixing close and room miking on these changes the punch quite a bit. So DFH 1 is worth looking at.
