First off my name is Mr.Cleva but you can call me Cleva and this is my first post (I have always watched and read this site for about a year now). I am a rap/R&B producer and I am from Dallas, TX. OK now that I have told you about me I guess I can ask this question now...
I am a FL Studio grad and I have decided to leap into the Cubase world. I am adapting pretty smooth but just a couple of things are hendering me from totaly liking this program.
1. Velocity settings - Don't ask why but I am tha type of producer who never like adjusting or fixing my velocity levels untill its time to mix. So I was wondering if there is a way to fix the velocity to a global setting?
2. Drum Pattern - Also one thing I really loved in Fl Studio was how easy it was to build my drum tracks (drawing, piano roll, step seq and etc...). So I was wondering if anybody knew of such vsti that is simular? I also just bought the Dr-008 because I was told that was the best for what I was looking for but after playing with it, Its missing the drawing/step edit ability.
OK, Thanks in advance for any replys!!!

why not use fls as a vst in cubase that way you can create your drum patterns in fls and do everything else in cubase. this is the method i use

Well you *could* use the manual that came with your legit copy of Cubase, like the rest of us.mrcleva wrote:Wow, please give me instructions on how to do this because this would be perfect!
and stop creating identical topics across the forum.

On dr008, if you right click in any empty pad, you have the option to load up a bunch of modules. Choose DDSequencer EX, and you've got a step editor. Choose your sounds and get clicking.mrcleva wrote: I also just bought the Dr-008 because I was told that was the best for what I was looking for but after playing with it, Its missing the drawing/step edit ability.

Or, use the drum map in Cubase.

Good idea! EnergyXT can be used inside Cubase too, I just learned.fhinspectit wrote:why not use fls as a vst in cubase that way you can create your drum patterns in fls and do everything else in cubase. this is the method i use
You might want to check out Guru; first thing that comes to mind. You don't like using Cubase's Piano Roll (out of curiousity)? Sometimes it takes a little while to get used to the flow of the new host. Took me awhile to get used to Cubase from Sonar.

hit f11 in cubase load fls vst or fls multi vst. in the mixer panel on fls assign the outputs "track 1 track2.etc. I create my drums in fls arrange them in the playlist and then insert them into cubase as a fls multi vst. Actually I do it in sonar5pe more but also in cubase. I stay off of bruton and masters what part of dallas you in.

What do you mean? Like you have some notes in the Piano Roll and they are different values, and you want them all to be, say, 100?mrcleva wrote:Fhinspectit what about the velocity question I had, do you know the answer?

Yo, when I try to use FL Studio as a vst it says "The engine couldn't be linked, probably because another instance of it is already running, or because it hasn't been installed properly." I don't have it running along with cubase and its installed properly. Whats the problem?
