One (potential) problem though: as far as I remember, there is a tapent on nydamic nocvolution (sorry for the spelling, trying to avoid googling lawyers ;)) - are you sure your plugin does not fall under it?
Thanks :)
I have to test performances with long IRs (like those for reverb). Morphing adds an overhead that could be significative for long IRs...

I don't know about patent. I heard that there are some, but, to be honest, I don't know how they apply to freeware in Italy... here we cannot patent algorithms...

Wow, this is going to be fun! :)

God, I just want to walk out the office and go make some noises!
:help:
Will we have the ability to alter the blocksize of the morphing algo?
I'm also expecting there to quite a significant delay introduced (depending on the block-size of the morphing algo).
One delay for the morph and another for the convolution.. is that right?

This one is "closed".

Speaking about the general "open" plugin: actually I've set a 512 block size. It is a 512 samples fixed delay. Morphing doesn't add any delay.
Yes, block size should be selectable: short for high cpu/low delay; long for low cpu/high delay

:)
This should be great for guitar

I am very eager to try this with my fretless electric guitar stuff. I think it's genius. I'm just in awe. Thanks for doing this!

We have to make a presentation about this one.
In fact, it is primary aimed at emulating Filterbank hardware devices, to reach some equalization settings that you can not get with conventionnal eq devices.
The sound should become more coloured, with an almost vocal quality.
But i'v used several gear to make those IR, and it goes far beyond emulation.

Man, oh, man!
I, too, have been hoping just suxh an effect would be created!
Awesome, somply aweseome!
I wish I could spend all day making a demo song to show what I suspect
I could do with your plug-in!

Looks really neat!

I don't quite understand though, will it morph between two or more different samples? Or is it doing something else?

Post

As I see you can morph smoothly between different IRs, not morphing between different samples like on Kyma. (still hope someone does this)

Still interesting, certainly useful.

vurt looks forward to this with great gusto :hyper:
